As someone who’s been in the e-bike building hobby since 2006 it’s wild to see these UK crackdowns on very run of the mill bikes and the accompanying boomer-brained posts about “illegal e-bikes with throttles” even here in the US. Hoping for a second renaissance of high power stealth builds.

It costs maybe 13 cents to charge my battery with what amounts to a laptop charger and goes at least 40 miles. You could fit 84 of those in a Tesla battery for a total of over 3,000 miles versus the paltry 250 the car would get.

My mom was a strip-o-gram girl in the early 90’s and did a birthday gig for him at headquarters. Said that he was a “weird little man” and gave her the creeps. You gotta understand how creepy you have to be to give someone in her line of work the jibblies. Wish she was still alive to ask more.
