I think x = 13, too. Reasoning is : the left side of the equation is a cubed. The cube root of the number on the right is 4, therefore the left must add up to 4. What number would be divisible by 3 to make 4? 12 ÷ 3 = 4. 12 + 1 = 13. So, to check... (13 - 1) ÷ 3 = 4

as shrubs come up to represss them in the next, longer cycle. In time, in glades, likely be sheep there again, (willing that our climate holds that long). Meantime, English national flock is reduced since Foot and Mouth almost a quarter of a century ago. Overall, sheep don't have the same impact

As with so much, it's finding that sweet spot, in't it. The OP here revealed a beautiful seed bank that was cached away until he changed management to cattle. Just a handful of years growing and seeding will assure that bank is replenished for when further change occurs

Aye, it's a matter of finding the right way for specific environments. Do you follow @rothamsted.bsky.social ? Their experiments and findings are highly respected.

Rotational grazing is an example of that land management. It can be achieved with use of single species and skill. The loss of traditional mixed farming and associated skills has had a negative effect in some places, which is very sad. My family that farm are in in-between areas that are under
