"Make the taxes and regulations go away, and the economy will grow like crazy! We swear this isn't identical to Reaganomics, which was about money trickling down to the little people. Instead, we're saying money will be ABUNDANT!"

And as you imply, politics nerds only post things they find fun. They won't copy/paste limp, meaningless talking points that say "we have mild concerns about some of our valued GOP colleagues' actions, and we call on them to do better."

Actual voters, no. Abundance bros, by all appearances yes.

Hilarious that the abundance bros swear the average voter believes "it's critical that we slash rules that get in the way of doing things" and also "abortions after 6 weeks are late-term, and banning them to the extent of prosecuting miscarriages doesn't bother me one bit"

This is why the NYT ignored/praised Trump saying "teachers are giving kids gender surgery in schools without informing parents". Because media executives hate any notion of trans diversity and believe lies are just fine if they help sabotage tolerance.

Reminds me of the hit job from 2001, passed off as straight "news analysis", that claimed Gary Condit's bizarre and unfathomable habits such as eating Chinese food were proof of Democrats' freakishness.

Nobody can ever make me read that book, but because all the usual assholes are saying how fresh and new it is I guarantee it's the exact same right-wing pitch we've been getting forever: "let the rich make all the money they want without any rules, and some will trickle down to the little people"

What's a conspiracy is saying the 2016 primary was "rigged" which normies understand to mean "they threw out ballots cast for Bernie who was the legitimate winner." Which plenty of people believe, but they've got as much proof as Trump bitching about 2020.

Harvard's being specifically targeted by the Trump administration, and we've all been shown in no uncertain terms that universities can revoke graduates' degrees whenever they want. The fact that Harvard refuses to do the obvious (and hilarious) thing with RFK jr must mean they're doing just fine.

Same situation as US Dems who, after generations as "the party that will make large systemic changes to benefit ordinary people when it gets in power", explicitly stopped doing that after 2010. Then they pretend to wonder "why don't young people dissatisfied with the system find us inspiring?"

There's nothing more advantageous to one's political and professional career than defining "popular" as "whatever billionaires want"

The only way anyone would do this is if someone with a leadership role and powerful rich buddies calls for a specific Middle East end goal (that is unequivocally neither "genocide all the Palestinians" nor "uncreate Israel"), declaring they intend to achieve it. And that hasn't happened.

Democrats: The Big Bill was Bad but the system it's created is now the status quo, and it would be impossible for us to roll any of it back because people don't like change.

The brain geniuses believe transgender people don't actually exist, are all just playing an annoying prank and will knock it off if given sufficient pressure.

"Bread and butter issues" means "cut those few taxes my billionaire boss still pays, and also exterminate the people who annoy him"

Trying to appeal to right-wing voters is laughably futile. They get all their information from right-wing media, which will never tell them anything about Starmer except that he's imposing full communism on Britain.

Don't forget the centrists who've spent years parroting the refrain "I am fervently in support of women's rights and have impeccable pro-choice credentials, but even I agree that Democrats have gone too far in mandating abortion-on-demand-throughout-pregnancy"

Media-political elite: 1) "Those people" need to stay in their proper place 2) How dare you, a fool, compare me with Trump 3) Let's talk some more about all the ways Trump is right

Hilarious--liking podcasts but not listening to them. Reminds me of how Elon's on a quest to have babies with lots of women but doesn't have sex with them. These people control our entire society, but their massive wealth isolates them from actual people and makes them utter whackjobs.

I won't be surprised if the Dems' retconned story becomes "Bernie and AOC convinced Biden to run again in 2024, sabotaging the rest of the party for their own selfish reasons"

Among the libs who control the Dem party the core belief here is "once the illegals disappear, Dems can win Red America again" and not only isn't that true, but more importantly it shows their ideology is basically the same as Stephen Miller.

I'd note that Trump has a perfect record of getting whatever he wants eventually, so it's safe to predict he will absolutely be awarded the Nobel peace prize.

Even sticking to the specific topic, a key takeaway from last year is "Biden made a huge policy choice to financially reward unions at the expense of other members of the Dem coalition, yet neglected to include a 2024 endorsement as part of the deal" but Dem leaders refuse to learn any lessons.

Bill Nelson's a perfect example of the DC Democrat: he didn't care whatsoever whether he won his 2018 reelection or gave his seat away to fucking Rick Scott. But staying in the good graces of those assholes at the Chamber of Commerce was absolutely critical to him.

For anyone with money or rich friends it's easy to arrange for "lifetime 24/7 personal care". What's not easy to arrange is "a team of ambitious midcareer professionals spending all day every day publicly maintaining the pretense that you remain capable of serving in a position of high authority".

They are still playing those and all their other games, and will never stop. And by doing so they will be making more money next year than they are now.

The funny thing here is, "I prefer Dem policies and I especially like that these policies will never happen because Dem leaders won't do it" is a completely nonexistent position which the entire Dem party pretends is a predominant one.

Biden's major laws--ARPA, BIF and IRA--gave people nice temporary checks and funded some roads and clean energy. Great stuff but they didn't fundamentally change the country or permanently improve lives. Which is why "most progressive president" is mainly a line shouted by red-faced centrists on TV.
