Why is the Trump Administration so keen to send American citizens to El Salvadoran prisons? The US has more prisons than anywhere else on Earth. If there isn’t enough room in American prisons to hold all the Americans that Trump plans to imprison, we’re in deep trouble.

My sister and her partner lost their jobs today. They were lawyers working food saftey cases for the FDA. Shes been there a while but was hired under Obama I believe. They have a baby and no insurance now.

In 2015, I remember @sarahkendzior.bsky.social suggesting a similar exercise. Something like 'knowing histories of authoritarianism, what are the things you'll never do or never accept. Write them down.' The sooner the better in a rapidly spiraling world. This is perhaps a complement:
