There’s a reason that the very day the GOP was introducing a bill that would *ban states from making laws related to AI* the AI execs themselves were in Saudi Arabia with Trump, minting billion dollar deals. AI has become an oligarchic project — and democracy an impediment.

The sad thing is, I think there are use cases for AI. I couldn’t tell you the number of times I’ve been able to find obscure studies and articles that Google just no longer is good for finding. It’s also light years better at language translation than google translate. But that’s not how it’s used.

I'm afraid that, if they do, they're practically guaranteed to only go after the progressive churches speaking out about how un-Christlike their actions are. Episcopalian, ELCA, United Church of Christ, etc. They won't touch the evangelical megachurches or the Prosperity Gospel grifters.

Today's ruling from Boasberg is a lawful order and sets a process in motion. Compliance is expected. Anything less than that is abnormal and must be treated as such — from the courts, from Congress, from other officials, and ultimately from the people. Don't say he won't comply. Say he must.

Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.
