The unprecedented failure of Friedrich Merz to gain enough votes to become Germany’s chancellor signifies dissent among his own grand coalition ranks. Bundestag — CDU/CSU: 208 seats SPD: 120 = 328 votes. He needed 316 but only received 310, meaning at least 18 of his own coalition failed to support

From today, it’s legal in Belgium to use plug-in solar panels at home. We’d like to get some for our own home since the Belgian state makes rooftop solar so difficult. But we are thinking of going to Germany to get them, where they’ve been used for a while and where there’s probably a big selection

Devastated. Raúl Grijalva was our guy in Congress. www.politico.com/news/2025/03...

There is this woman in Belgium who people have just now realized has not been spotted for 15 years, she had multiple children and no one ever reported her missing , not even her family It is just so incredibly sad , you get murdered and no one even notices

Aw shucks, so proud to have made the list 😊

This is democracy: My ballot for voting in Germany (dual citizen) — candidate vote on the left, party vote on the right. Also democracy: It arrived in Belgium late (absentee voter) due to the Bpost strike. So what does that make the 36€ I had to pay to make sure it arrives on time?

It’s just a matter of time until something awful happens as a result of these ill-conceived firings

Big scoop for POLITICO

I am among those watching closely to see if democracy topples in the U.S. of A.

City of Mechelen turns buildings on its iconic Grote Markt into bordellos for Valentine’s Day 😆

In case not obvious from previous pro-MAGA camp conspiracy mongering, the allegation that USAID funds POLITICO is pure disinformation. The U.S. government pays POLITICO for subscriptions to its valuable newsletters. Absolutely nothing to do with USAID

Trump/Musk want to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education … thought that was a hoax when I first read it. Nope. So, what’s the plan for making sure every American kid gets a decent education?

How long will it take Trump to pardon the Jan. 6 rioters? And, will he pardon Giuliani?

Massive thumbs down 👎🏼 to Kari Lake directing Voice of America. Even rejected by Arizona voters, not fit for task
