almost certain that I haven’t noticed one in West Midlands or TfL either. She was obviously struggling for ideas this week.

as if it wasn’t mad enough anyway… side point: she has made it pretty clear that she doesn’t catch buses. Roughly 50/50 gender split in West Midlands and TfL these days, so why on earth assume the driver is male?

new one on me…?! maybe when someone writes a riposte they can list some of the regional and generational differences in how we express a bit of common decency. Having read Chiles’ column, maybe she’s just an edgelord.

agree with Unspun… nothing. Slight bit of tinkering and they’re getting brickbats: any real progress in reversing foot-shooting still seems years off

agree with you on all of this… there’s no imminent vote or change tho. Obviously Labour are getting lots of stuff badly wrong, but it’s only truss-type libertarians who want to make more radical changes, and hopefully they’re out of power for the foreseeable

this was in evidence six weeks ago when Peterborough struggled to sell 20,000 and Birmingham sold 44,000 within thirty minutes of it going on general sale, but there were still 10,000 empty seats on match day. Ridiculous

wasn’t sure whether I knew this (thoughts were blocked by Four Seasons - Let’s Hold On) but now it’s probably my earworm for a week. Amazing how many from ‘79 still stand up to scrutiny.

Sixty-somethings in Birmingham pay £2.80 to get on a bus - it’s not just Londoners who think it’s unfair

everyone is liberal on this until they actually experience it. Also: in the last fortnight I’ve got buses in London every day for at least a week and the West Midlands is immeasurably worse
