Trump knows the power of words. The name of the country is the *United States* of A. Using the name of the continent for the country is a shortcut but also an usurpation that many foreigners endorse out of obsequiousness or servility. In the hands of a malignant narcissist, this can only turn bad.

Also reminding Trump there's still 1 year to go on his CUSMA trade deal, 1 year for Canada to strengthen up and shift partners.

The going is going to get much more tough. Are the tough going to get going? Before it's too late.

Dictators and authoritarian leaders do not care about corruption. It's a feature of their system anyway. The US is in the midst of a coup, a self-coup actually. Are the US people going to really do something before it's too late and they all end up like impoverished semi-slaves?

No more quality control testing for already subpar milk and dairy products? Welp. I guess many won't pass the norm for import to Canada anymore. I couldn't be happier.

You should care more about your freedoms and rights because the crash of these will be worse than the stockmarket crash. The US is headed to become an autocracy. Wake up before it's too late and you are a giant Cuba or Russia. From your friendly neighbors up North who've seen it coming already.

They voted for authoritarianism, this is what is coming. They didn't realize they wouldn't be spared, that not only the "others" would suffer. But malignant narcissists want all the power, all the control and all the money. Forever. And they don't care about what's happening to anyone else.
comment in response to post
If it was only that. I'm seeing the exact same program every authoritarian or dictator has followed to install their regime. How could results be any different? Of course they want all the money and the population in a miserable condition. But they are also dismantling every branch of government.
comment in response to post
Class war? You're inside a coup. They ~~want to~~ *are* turning the US into a dictatorship. You already had the oligarchs, now they want all the power and all the control. It's happening the same way it has happened in every other country through history, the same steps are being implemented.

All those jobs that were delegated to migrants, paid half the normal minimum wage, not paid their overtime and taxed for benefits they couldn't use. How is this going to look for you guys? No more semi-slaves like since the end of the Slavery War, *They*'ll want the same benefits to keep rolling in.

Trump doesn't do free gifts. There's a reason behind his proposal. I see this so-called compensation as subsidies to start "well-armed militias".
comment in response to post
Malignant narcissists will do even the most unthinkable if they think they can get away with it. I certainly hope that people will wake up before it's too late because this sh¡t is just the start. Expect the most horrible and they will still surprise you in ways you would have never thought possible
comment in response to post
Shocking but malignant narcissists have absolutely no limits. They'll do absolutely anything, even the most unimaginably, if they think they can get away with it.
comment in response to post
As usual, it must be the opposite of what he says, so this is probably not compensation but subsidies for them to organize militias that will "stand back and stand by" until he asks them to act. And these rabid people will do anything he asks them to. He's very creative, we have to give him that.
comment in response to post
You got it, and these will be tasked to quell dissent.
comment in response to post
It's for his new militias he wants these guys to form, that will attack any dissent in the not that far future. From what I've seen, they aim from the authoritarian takeover to be completed by September.
comment in response to post
It's not insane, it's a self-coup.
comment in response to post
Soon he'll put the new militias on government payroll. I'm not even joking.
comment in response to post
Yeah they still need some slaves so now they're going to train them from very young.
comment in response to post
Maybe, but only if You, The People, protest enough. But the grinding machine of their coup will continue grinding on until all your rights, freedoms and incomes are gone. Unless you resist and fight like if everything was at stake because it is.
comment in response to post
They use beliefs to control the population through gaslighting. Examples: Putin tells his population the West is the enemy. Yet him and his oligarchs have all their money in the West & children, families, mistresses living in their lavish properties there. Iran: Khameini's children party in Paris.
comment in response to post
Even the religion thing is an ideology tool to fool the people. A pretense. It's alway like that with political coups. They use ideology to submit the population into renouncing their rights, freedoms and incomes. What the oligarchy wants is all the power, all the money and the pleasure of control.
comment in response to post
Exactly. People need to understand that they can't delegate the job of fighting for *their* rights, freedoms and incomes to others. This is not an ordinary situation. Everything now is of immense consequences.
comment in response to post
I'm glad, honestly. Their plans are so horrible, the only thing that might save the world is their mistakes. If the population doesn't stand up.
comment in response to post
Malignant narcissists only understand the law of the strong and respect power play. So he chose people without ethics & empathy like him, who will follow his orders to the end no matter what, because he said so. This is an authoritarian coup. They will replace every civil servant with these people.
comment in response to post
A country as a corporation. Imagine the future.
comment in response to post
Malignant narcissists only believe in the law of the strongest and only respect shows of force. These were sham referendums but they respect Putin because he has power. They are heartless servants of Moloch obsequiously bending down in front of one of their masters. Same with Netanyahu.
comment in response to post
Absolutely. You are in the middle of a self-coup. Every single authoritarian proceeds the same way. They are taking over every lever of the State, replacing normal employees w/ minions who are all malignant narcissists like them. Until they clamp down on everything. Trump announced it for September.
comment in response to post
Unfortunately for way more time than you think, unless you unite and fight like hell.

Trump effectively killed the US armament export industry for the foreseeable future. This is what happens when you not only see your partners as inferiors but treat them like hostages.

Losing Germany is enormous. Germans *love* their cars like no other nation.
comment in response to post
I don't even think he has beliefs. He has pretend beliefs but changed them many times for some that got more traction. Like all MN, their so-called ideology is whatever fools more people. They can change it in a snap because it's just a tool to get power and attention.
comment in response to post
His children are vaccinated. He's changed sides so often, sold his allegiance for a position. He never got over being a rich ordinary guy without the genius his father had. He spent his entire life seeking relevance. But he's a narcissist who cares about nobody and never got the adulation he craves.

In the short extract I saw -I'm not interested in seeing more- the mother looked so dead and was looking at her husband all the time, like for approval or for fear of making a misstep. But their hell is just beginning. They will live with that weight on their consciousness the rest of theirs lives.
comment in response to post
People need to realize that.

In a country turning lawless and without any justice, who will go to prison, perpetrators or people who don't obey? Will people submit out of fear or fight for fear of losing even more? There's no way out of this one without being affected. The question is choosing by what.
comment in response to post
That's the most puzzling question. Apparently it's also not obvious for millions of people who didn't even vote for Trump.
comment in response to post
Do right and wrong have any meaning anymore? What about caring, and being able to admit mistakes? 3 essential core or soul functions that malignant narcissists lack completely.
comment in response to post
How come Canadians understand this rather spontaneously (cf. boycotts) and so many US people don't seem to?

Let's not forget that the founders of the Hudson's Bay Company were 2 Frenchmen, traders and explorers extraordinaire.

their rights & freedoms, wilfully submitting to these restrictions, using a fabricated crisis and scarecrows as motive. Take control of the military and instrumentalize it to oppress the population. Et voilà. That's how they all do it.
comment in response to post
This is how authoritarian regimes install. Dismantle the State apparatus, replace every employee with minions. Render the elected assemblies powerless. Render the judiciary institutions powerless. Instrumentalization of the repression/enforcement system. Make the population surrender 1/2
comment in response to post
The US is now half way into being an autocracy. Believing that joust inside political institutions now mostly powerless and appeals to a judiciary system turned almost as powerless will be enough, especially with dismantled government structures, is discounting the emergency of the situation.
comment in response to post
I'm really concerned about what will come after him. I don't think the transformation of the US into an authoritarian country will stop with him.
comment in response to post
Except his obituary wouldn't improve anything and maybe signal a worsening of the situation. He's an opportunist who benefits from an underlying inequality and injustice situation that has existed since the beginning and has not been fixed since the end of slavery.
