Happy Anniversary! Have fun!

I almost feel like that analogy should be the other way around - Lex is jealous of Superman's talent, so he lashes out

Very much so. It starts out nice and weird, but gets more pedestrian as it goes. Not one I'll be revisiting often.

Seriously! Every other scene. Not that I'm complaining - young Serena Grandi was something else! I was really disappointed they didn't keep the hallucinations going, though. Photos of the eyeball face was what drew me to the film and then they just dropped it. ***/***** for me.

Those Oreos really are good, though

Good point! I just chose Chuck and Miles because of their physical prominence in the community.

Sometimes I just put it on in the background while I'm doing other things

Ugh, I miss the friendly confines. I've only been up there once since I moved to St Louis 25 years ago. Such a great ballfield. Have fun! Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks!

There's no wrong way to eat an Oreo

Just in time to go on a camper murder spree tomorrow, too!

Nice! I have a few relatives who saw them before they made it big, too.

Todd in the Shadows ( @shadowtodd.bsky.social ) covered this one on an excellent One Hit Wonderland video a few months back! It's absolutely worth checking out: youtu.be/MRhpwOCJBrc?...

Honestly, just about any of those guys would have worked just as well.

I can usually take or leave them, but these are so good I wish they were a permanent addition to the line.

Oh, hell yes! Can't wait to check it out!

This is a recent discovery for me that just drips the R&B vibes of the mid-to-late 1980s. The chorus gets stuck in my head for hours after I hear it; it's just so damn catchy. I prefer Takeuchi's version from her 1987 album, Request (the first video I posted), but either will do in a pinch.

"Oh No, Oh Yes", was written by Mariya Takeuchi, but most famously recorded by pop star Akina Nakamori in 1986: youtu.be/TkmfOyuGSdQ?...

This big strong man...a soldier, a cowboy, a circus strongman in little cheetah-print underwear...he came up to me with tears in his eyes, and he said, "Sir...sir, this rendition of "Little Deuce Coupe"...sir, it's the greatest song I ever heard. Better even than the original, sir."

I grew up near Champaign, Illinois, where local rock legends REO Speedwagon have a street named after them

Miles Davis is also from the St. Louis area (Alton, Illinois). He has a statue there as well.

In St. Louis, we have Chuck Berry. This was a photo I took of the Berry statue in "The Loop" part of town shortly after his death in 2017. He had a regular gig at a restaurant/music venue called Blueberry Hill where he played downstairs in "The Duck Room" named after his famous stage walk.

And then they get annoyed when their item doesn't sell

So many people don't understand that just because it's listed on eBay for $2,000, doesn't mean it's ever actually sold for $2,000.

Unfortunately, your best bet is going to be eBay. And the missiles might cost you, simply because that's the first thing a kid is going to lose, so they're harder to come by now.

Back then, those "pancakes" are probably pieces of foam rubber that they painted to look golden brown. And the "syrup" is probably diluted Elmer's glue with some red food coloring added.

You know the owner of that chair was devastated to admit that it finally had to go. They held onto that thing like a middle-aged dad holds onto his threadbare boxer shorts. I feel his pain.

I can always find room for old magazines. So, I'd keep them, put them on a shelf, and never look at them again until my kids are cleaning out my office after I die.

That scene never gets old no matter how many times I've seen it
