is this all b/c Elon told everyone on twitter that Trump's a pedo?

Not to worry, USAID still has pallets of soup mortars.

Cause and effect. Elon calls Trump a pedo. Trump calls in the national guard.

Interesting thought experiment. I'd take the bet that Gaetz would've been less of a clown. He's at least is in on the con, and would probably fabricate more believable / plausible lies. Not sure that's "better" though ...

OTOH waving the middle finger may result in getting tackled, beaten, shackled and a trip to the country jail for
"disorderly conduct."

“The public should understand that [President Donald] Trump wants to kill U.S. science. And is succeeding.”
This is happening to nearly all federally funded science, right now.

i would explain to the non-scientist that the atmosphere is a fluid full of waves and that's why we model it using fluid dynamics.

He came from Fox. Interestingly, around the time of the 2020 election, Leland was one of the few Fox anchors to debunk Trump's election lies on air. Then Trump and his maga goons started bitching to the manager and he "left" Fox shortly thereafter.

RCPs are also somewhat outdated. Modeling centers have moved towards SSP emissions scenarios to comply with more recent CMIP protocols.
comment in response to
post
RCP8.5 is the 'business as usual' scenario, meaning we emit the same amount of carbon in the future that we are emitting right now. This counterargument based on constraints of recoverable coal is incorrect, misleading and naive.

A bit different. The North Pole is covered in relatively thin sea-ice that's vanishing, exposing a warmer Arctic Ocean to the atmosphere. The South Pole doesn't respond the same way b/c the Antarctic Ice Sheet is miles thick and harder to remove, but it could collapse into the sea in 500 years time.

There may also be a bunch masked up federal agents doing their best to escalate the situation. I even recall Bill Barr using helicopters last time. And there's gonna be 50 of 'em.

They're especially on a crusade against anything remotely related to 'woke' climate science. Which along with a weird grudge against NOAA's weather forecasters, puts basically anyone who studies the atmosphere in this country out of a job.

Yes, the twitter replies to Aaron's post were delightful. And exemplified by Kash and Dan's response to Maria's question on if agents were involved. They know the answer is no, but are too chicken shit to tell their frothing base.

99% of time -- absolutely. But the 1% of time where you think you're getting scammed and need a heartbeat, it provides some relief.

Ahh, ok got it.
It seems like this administration's approach is to go line-by-line and eliminate grants or contracts they deem "woke." So I suppose US colleges will still be able to complete in the "non-woke" sciences, whatever that means (I just know I'm in the former group).

They've got a talking point for that: too big to rig.
I often say to them that voter fraud is illegal, so point me to all the court rulings validating claims of widespread fraud.
That tends to lead to insults, which I consider a win.
