We had our first child almost 16 years ago and [not sure who] sold our detail to a photographer (among others). He paid £30 for our details and he could not understand why we didn't want to spend £500 on a few ' professional photos'. Technology changes and perceptions of value are different.

Not sure I go with that either. But I do agree that those who seek power are the ones you'd least like to weird it.

The Chinese have very much benefited from EU and UK subsidies for solar panels. Production in China can now outstrip supply making panels very cheap. Surely tiles and solar panels can be combined so that all rooves are 100% panels.

Yeah but currently VM are the only option over 60Mbit where I live.

Is there a Musk or Trump mirror account on Bluesky? I couldn't find one.

It's to boost growth so probably mostly in urban areas with targeted rural.

CityFibre is a few months away from starting in my area so I checked my Virgin BB (Gigabit) had gone to a whopping £72.50 but website said I could renew contract at £47.85 - never said that before. Tried haggling but he only offered me £65, said he couldn't go lower. £47.85 isn't that bad tbh.

Tight rope walking is really easy, you just get a stick and walk along it. That's what you've just said about the entire welfare system and military strategy for the UK.

Yes, since they cut Trump out of the loop.

The company goes bust, the shareholders lose their investment and the government take over at minimal/zero cost.

It needs an option for CRT as a post-processing effect - soften out the pixels and give it a better retro look.

Personally I'd have all my drones already in place before I launched any attack - getting the next lot in the country will be much harder than just moving them around the country.

Matt Hancock, deaths of thousands in care homes. There's another not held accountable.

I just get an image of the old pigeon racing trucks being driven past an airfield (or parked up for months) and swarms of drones flying out.

Yeah, it's a statistical minefield. Ignoring the "self driving" I haven't seen anything which implies Tesla are less safe than other cars. They may be top for fatal accidents but not statistically noteworthy - double average but only 5% more than KIA. I suspect it may be largely driving style.

Seems very odd, surely there's a surplus of new cars if sales have dropped so much. Doesn't seem much point refurbishing old ones and pretending they're new.

I had this a few weeks ago. 5G 5 bars and no Internet. Even switching phone to 4G didn't work. Drive over a mile before I got proper signal.

I know people who only really feel awake when that happens.

Strangely, this joke from Viz pops into my head regularly.

I thought this was bollocks but doing the maths (I've been on a severe diet) and yeah, it's plausible she's lost only 4 stone in 242 days. Very odd because you get told not eating for a day is really bad for you.

Only one option, get Israel and Hamas out and leave the people alone.

I follow this person bsky.app/profile/seba... I'm fully aware that one person isn't a guiding light but I'm also aware that algorithms usually lead you down your darkest path. Labour are making great steps, I just hope their stumbles are on factors I don't understand. Politics is not easy answers.
comment in response to post
I agree, however life isn't simple. I believe in being Green but I don't believe the world can get there soon, even in 100 years. I believe Labour are on the right path even if I don't like all their polices ... I believe running a country is complex - easy solutions don't work (i.e. Reform & Green)
comment in response to post
Sorry, I'm afraid I have to block you now as I've just read through your posts and I'm getting serial killer vibes!
comment in response to post
Yeah, good luck with that police report! 😀

Mmm, I think you may have too much time on your hands. There's many bad things in this world and in this specific situation I disagree. The benefit to the postie not walking 50 metres or crossing the road 50 times per day is better than the minor problem of mounting a curb.
comment in response to post
Looks fine to me. Only maybe is proximity to bus stop (and what isn't in photo obviously). Pulled in out of the way so road isn't narrowed, no obstructions to visibility or traffic restrictions (I.e. no overtaking). Only other issue is being on path but that is plenty wide enough.

Safety is obviously a priority but if a disabled car can park there then a delivery van should be fine for a few minutes.

Hopefully a decent form of PR will be a thing by the next GE. Green is a noble cause but is still a wasted vote unless they prioritise PR above all else. But that is politics all over - compromise. You might have a noble cause but until you can fit it into reality I can't vote for you.

Mmm, looking at the video it was multiple repeated crashes. I didn't see anything that couldn't be put down as drug induced panic. He was lucky nobody was killed because I don't think that was his intention.

I've seen many kids teeth fall out and non of them have signifant roots whereas both sets here have full roots.

There should be less of this on bluesky. Musk has done bad things but SpaceX isn't one of them. Ridiculing professional engineers at Spacex for a dig a Musk shouldn't be a thing George Takei does.
comment in response to post
I have no idea what Labour are doing. It's basic 101 that you can't beat populist nonsense, all you can do is ignore it and hope it goes away. The more you rub the dirt, the more it spreads around - cover it up and make everything else beautiful.

Musk's ultimate goal is to populate Mars permanently - an admirable goal. I think his original plan was for 2024. I'm sure you're aware that whilst Musk is a capable engineer, he is a master at hype, although I think most of that is just unrealistic timing. Pointier is a joke from The Dictator.
comment in response to post
Musk is SpaceX, it's his company from start to finish. He employed engineers to do the work and guides them, he does not do the engineering. These Starships are not made for life support, they are for mass to orbit. Presumably you are referring to Mars missions, like I say decades away.
comment in response to post
The second stage problems were not related to the first stage problems so couldn't be a sign of trouble unless 'forboding' is part of science. The first stage was testing limits so safe to say they were exceeded.
comment in response to post
SpaceX is full of engineers, Musk isn't heading the team. As for the next Mars window, yeah no chance. Nor the one after that. But no, these are filly kitted starship and don't cost anywhere near $1bn
comment in response to post
... but by then it will be orders of magnitude better than anything we have now because of the other major goal - mass production. Even without resuability Starship can be built from scratch in a few months at minimal cost. Not like SLS - $billion/launch/year but $millions/launch/week.
comment in response to post
The problem is not that it blows up but that certain tests aren't completed first. The booster was mostly a successful test but the ship's tiles need results. Remember that you often learn more from a failure than a success. I'm not expecting reliable launch/landing until test 20ish ...

What is the chance they are wasting?

Have you not seen Jonathan Pie, seems in character to me?

If only life were that simple. It's well established that wealth taxes rarely raise anything when all other factors are taken into account. Ideally money couldn't be shifted around by the wealthy to avoid tax but global economies are so complex it's almost impossible to prevent.

Farage and his mates should all make a formal legal statement before the ethnicity is announced and then be held accountable to the facts after it is announced.

This is the ideal usage case for 'cloud computing'. In theory if you secure your device properly it doesn't matter what physical device you use, you can pick up another and within hours be exactly where you left off.

Jonathan Pie make lots of amazing videos which mostly ridicule the type of people in this post. How else is he supposed to develop material if he doesn't see what they post?
