I have echinacea, coreopsis, Joe Pye Weed, bee balm, native roses, blanketflower, and larkspurs, but I also like zinnia and cornflowers.

When I wanted to plant something that isn’t native, I used a rule of thumb I am pretty sure I saw on @blackforager.bsky.social’s socials. “Is it invasive? Will it push out another species? Will it help pollinators, birds, or wild animals?”

I also sourced plants from local Native Plant Sales and www.PrairieNursery.com. (They were great to work with, btw, and you can drill down on their site by region, soil type, sun/shade, etc.)

I’ve always been for it, and it took buying a home to be able to do that. Various US state universities have agricultural extensions that can have lists, but you can always start with “<direction> <state> native plants.”

I like to go out and look at mine several times a week.

Welp, THAT pretty much officially puts the US in "Official US policy is now fundamentally incompatible with the Olympic Charter to the point the IOC cannot feasibly hold an Olympic Games in either LA in 2028 or Salt Lake City in 2034"
(A thread on that: skywriter.blue/pages/did:pl...)

This is why AI is so offensive. It assumes that the artist cannot capture something more real than reality by drawing attention to a single perfect moment. This is something that only a person with skill and a deep sense of story and beauty can do.

I live at the other end of the state, but half my family is from that side.
I’m sure y’all have, but just in case, find a good pest control company and get quarterly service. I use a local one and it has saved me so much anxiety.
