Not the same impact. We need that many people in DC.

They’re a parliamentary system so it’s not really comparable; and they have to form coalitions to run the government anyways so the top four there may as well be 2. The little parties don’t matter.
comment in response to

There is though. In our first past the post system only two parties are viable and you will never change that short of killing one of them and replacing it. Otherwise the people voting for you are voting for the person they least want to win. It’s the math.

That’s hilarious. Jill Stein? You know, who’s buddy buddy with Putin? Who breaks bread with him? The Greens are in the pockets of them too at the national level.
comment in response to

We have one of those but he failed on the national level previously, twice.

Unfortunately most of the US minor parties are propped up by foreign interests in order to act as a spoiler effect. Let me know when they try to run realistic candidates for school boards and state govt for about a decade before trying at the federal level.

And yet those people in El Salvador will never be seen again. And the next time they want something done like this they’ll ignore the courts again. Over and over. The courts won’t help us, dictatorships have never been overthrown with the courts.

You sweet summer child. They don’t need pretext, or lawful reasons. We’re in calvinball land where they make up the rules as they go and apply them however they want to target whoever they want.
comment in response to

This also explains their rampant misogynism. They want to be “high status” males, and they can’t, so they immediately hate women.

At least you have the advantage of having a country to take shelter in…

The only one of those that will apply to the northern arctic latitudes is maybe wildfires.
comment in response to

They want fortress America. They want the northern latitudes to retreat to from the ravages of climate change. They want all of North America under one government so they can secure it from the inevitable climate hordes and try to hunker down and live as a hermit state.

He doesn’t need Tesla money anymore, he owns the US government financial system.

We won’t. People thinking they will are incredibly naive.

You don’t put down fascism with “measured thoughtfulness”. There is only one thing they respect.
comment in response to
post
Do we remember what happened to those people? They literally ran them over with tanks and ground them into literal mincemeat.
comment in response to
post
No it’s because people are stupid and malignantly selfish.
If the choice is between fascism and X, the answer is always X because fascists don’t stop when they’re done with the first group. I’ve read plenty. It’s a simple analysis.
comment in response to

It’s not a fucking stupid answer. The choice was between literal Nazis and a stable government. Those “apolitical centrists” chose Nazis. And before you say I’m being hyperbolic, look at the SecDef and the guy that said black people are feral they put in place
comment in response to

That’s all that was needed. Literally.
comment in response to

Bullshit. Weak ass centrism does, as evidenced by this last election.

Personally we could really use our own actual populist now. It’s the only way we get out of this mess.

I’m afraid to tell you that the idea that inflation got him voted in is complete horseshit. Malice and hurting the right people, bigotry and hate did. “the price of eggs” was a lie.

Yeah it’s gotta be fifth grade level with simple sentences and focus on aspects that would look good to the childish id and ego of the average American voter. If there’s not “something in it for them” in 5th grade language they don’t care.

There are no laws anymore, don’t you get it?

Wouldn’t that be on the property owners and not the city though?

Yeah, no.

It’s funny you think resistance will be allowed.

I don’t think you understand what’s going on. You’re acting s as if nothing fundamental has changed. I’m not talking about getting drafted. I’m talking about what they’re going to do to remind this country. Compulsory service will be required for citizenship for non white males.
comment in response to

We won’t be when the fascists are done with us.
comment in response to

Compulsory service, probably coupled with doing that service the only way to be a full citizen like in Starship Troopers.
comment in response to

Don’t worry they have a solution for that too, just wait.

Who had connections to the people running those private schools?

They aren’t doing investigative journalism anymore. They bent the knee like everyone else.

What was the brand? Carbonaut? It’s basically all fiber. When I’m doing low carb I’ll pick them up sometimes but I can only have one hah.

Have you tried against the grain? That’s my favorite. Freschetta is a close second.

Oh that’s interesting. I’ve never actually heard of that before! Learn something new every day.
You may already know but the French have a style of crepe made entirely out of buckwheat. Don’t know if that would work for you!

Amazon had these… and the brand you like?

Let me know what you think. I’ve never messed with sorghum; I’ve only had it in various gluten free beers.
