Let the players have a rest and vacation with their family ! Sack the arrogant Infantino ! Players are exhausted, and there are more and more injuries. Money money money... π‘

Another example of the total lack of communication is Scott Munn. We don't know anything about him. Why was he appointed, what did he do, what did he achieve, why will he be sacked (reportedly) so quickly after his appointment? Is it an English game to appoint and sack people so fast ??? π

I completely agree. I would love it if Thomas Frank is the one to replace Ange.

This tournament is there only because of Infantino's huge ego and arrogance. I hope it will be a complete failure and a financial disaster.
Let the players have a rest and go on vacation with their family!

So yes I was over the moon of course when we won this beautiful trophy, but I don't think Ange is the main reason for that success. Having top players like Micky, Cuti, Destiny and Pedro were the main reason. And with Lucas, Madders and Deki we would have won very easily. Man U are a VERY poor team.

I think that Levy fears that Ange can't handle different competitions at the same time, and playing the CL is clearly far more difficult than the Europa league ! PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid are other fish than a very poor Man U ! The huge question is : is Ange tactically good enough for the top ?

The current issue is that everyone is still within the emotions of the victory and parade. But a chairman should not make a decision based on end of season emotions. He should look at the facts and we started suffering big defeats at the end of the 1st season. And it went on and on in the league.

I don't want to see another manager sacking in November
Levy should absolutely consult the leaders of the dressing room and ask them this evident question:how do you explain we finished 17th,lost 26 games and suffered home losses to dreadful Leicester and Ipswich? This is not a good way to back him!

Wow this is a magnificent article praising Ange ! I hope he will read it on his Greek sunbed! ππ
Me, I'm more critical than you and I think there are as many reasons to sack him as to keep him. And Levy is a cold man, not driven by the emotions of the parade. He will want to avoid a Ten Hag situation

It really is a hard call, a tough decision for Levy. There are good reasons to keep Ange and good reasons to part ways with a nice financial bonus for him. What I don't want to see is another sacking next November... Levy should have a long chat with the leaders among our players.

Normally, there are no articles about Belgian clubs on the Athletic. So I think you brought them good luck π. I'm not a Union fan as my heart and blood are fully Spurs, but it's really well deserved. Small budget and great fans, and lots of patience as they stayed in the lower tiers for a long time.

I fear for Ange. I think Levy has been talking to manager's agents for months because of the Premier League awful results. If Ange was staying, Levy would have already told him and would have mentioned his name in his notes about next season. Ange's face in the press conf was not great, so...

The Athletic still seems to think that Ange will leave our club and say goodbye today. What have you heard, Alasdair ?
I'm a bit surprised, I must say. And I have no idea what will happen...

The Champions League final at the Puskas arena, Alasdair? I think you are so happy right now that you're getting carried away ! π
Sorry for being a cold and insensitive old man but PSG, Barcelona & Inter are not in the same category as that very poor Man U side. But it will be great to be back !!!

I read a lot and listen a lot about Spurs and the debate you just had on "the Tottenham way" podcast about Ange was the most interesting I listened to. Well done to "The Tottenham way" podcast π

Indeed, Levy has a very difficult decision to make. Myself, I don't know anymore...
I don't want us to make the same mistake as Man U with Ten Hag. We insanely lost 25 times in all competitions!... And our poor form started at the end of last season. But is there a perfect candidate to replace him??
comment in response to

Excellent article, Miguel. I totally agree. It is a very difficult decision to make for Levy. Also, they need to find a top candidate, better than Ange, and who can say the new one would succeed ? The players will also have their say ! We, Spurs fans, just want to celebrate right now. ππ

We lost 25! games in all competitions, we are 17th! in the league, we lost home games vs Leicester and Ipswich. Moreover, he is often rude and arrogant in his answers after the many defeats. Dan is a good journalist and his question during the press conf was legitimate. Ange didn't answer it...
comment in response to

The problem with Ange is that he always says : oh, I have thick skin, I don't care what people say, I don't read it anyway. Well, it is quite the opposite! He reads the articles about him and then calls out a journalist during an international press conference. Well, Ange should be criticised!
comment in response to
post
But Dan didn't mention that word in his question ! Is Ange gonna call out every journalist who criticised him in one of their previous articles ??? π‘ Once again, stupid prickly attitude of Ange. Unbelievable how he uses an international press conf to call out a journalist... π Ange's thick skin π

What I mean is that your article gives me the impression that Spurs and Man U only beat "poor" and weak European teams to reach the final.I don't agree:Frankfurt and Athletic are strong teams with excellent players and don't tell me they have no money to compete..
Bodo proved money is not everyth!π
comment in response to

You also say that Spurs have spent billions and have an incredible wage bill. Is it a joke ? Levy has been criticised by fans for 2 decades for not spending enough and Spurs' wage bill is only 42% of their total revenue, way below other clubs, as mentioned in the media lately.
comment in response to

I don't agree with you. It was an aberration that teams could drop down from the CL to the EL ! Finishing 3rd in the group was a failure and should not have been rewarded with a place in the EL. It was a stupidity. Also, Frankfurt and Athletic are strong teams with money, you seem to omit that.

Let's be honest, those flight and accommodation costs are a pure disgrace !!! I'm sure if you go to Bilbao when there is no event, you could end up only paying a total of 250 eur for flight and hotel... Here we are talking of a total of 8000 (I had a look) ... People abuse the system, disgusting...

Nobody except Villa cares about this game anyway...

When you analyse what he says,it's a bit laughable.
So Ange motivates them perfectly before every single game and they are fully prepared for every game thanks to Ange and his staff ? Well,we can all see that in our position in the stand..He should be interviewed by fans who attended every defeat!..

People say : oh, it's all right, we'll win the final and nobody will care about our league position. We'll, what makes them so sure we'll win it ???...

I've become so sick of his excuses and rude and arrogant attitude towards reporters post defeats. I can't stand him anymore, really. I wanted him sacked months ago. We are 17th but he never admits personal responsibility. Never accepts any criticism. One of the worst managers I've ever seen...

We controlled the whole game, we were defensively perfect, I was never worried 1 second of the game, don't remember the last time this happened away from home. Well done boys ! π
But let's stay calm, reaching the final means nothing unless we win it.

No, I don't want another managerial sacking in November. If we win it, he will leave on a high, that would be great for him. What is better than leaving after you just won the European Cup ? He would be remembered for years.
Ten Hag is the best example, don't keep a manager you want to sack...

Yes, both legs were magnificent. A joy to watch ! But Barca, come on, their defending was atrocious. Their forward players deserved to go through, they were sensational. And Yamal, 17, what a player, I was sad for him.

Missing Lucas and Madders is a huge blow... (we're not even sure if Dom will be OK enough to start). The Tottenham curse... π

A very boring game between 2 poor teams fighting for the 16th place. The perfect game if you wanted to fall asleep this afternoon. "Ange ball" has completely disappeared. BUT who cares about dead rubbers anyway. Our unique focus is Bodo.

Let's not forget Athletic are a very strong side (only 5 defeats in La Liga, with top and fast strikers !) and the final is at their stadium. So yes, we realistically could end up 17th and that's it.... Very worrying indeed.
