If you can find a pub that’s still open

How can you not step back at some point and question *why* you can’t answer these questions? Absolutely 100% sure these things are true but can’t explain a single one of them beyond a few buzz words.

"biological sex" is the idea that being born with a vulva makes you female, until it doesn't because you were too good at sports.

Military contracts are pretty lucrative. Someone will be getting richer somewhere.

It’s interesting that none of Khelif’s opponents have refused to get into the ring with her then. In fact, most have gone out of their way to show their support for her.
comment in response to post
The fact that people are arguing about an individual ‘looking’ male or female says differently. If we were ‘excellent’ at recognising this then there would be no argument at all.

I’m not against athletes taking tests to prove eligibility

It doesn’t matter what I think. I have no influence over this whatsoever. Also not sure what you’re inferring by ‘my own eyes’ - if you’re basing your argument solely on her physical appearance then that tells me everything I need to know about you.

Personally I didn’t see anyone question its existence - more that the test was managed by a Russian-led body with credibility issues, lacked transparency and due process, and was perceived by many - including the IOC - as potentially politically motivated and scientifically questionable.

Also, I fail to see why my personal opinion on the lab is relevant. I’d never heard of it before this started, and it’s not like I have any influence over any decisions it makes. The only thing I will say is there’s clearly holes in it, otherwise the decision would have been accepted off the bat

The results were well known during the olympics. That was why the controversy started in the first place. The only difference now is that you have a little picture of them.

This isn’t news. This is the test from 2023 that started the argument off. It’s been questioned by medical professionals and doubts remain over its validity. This isn’t ‘proof’ - this is the reason why more proof is being requested.

I’ve never taken it to a professional level, more ‘full time amateur’ if that’s a thing. Very rewarding hobby though!

If only there was some sort of….you know….middle ground.
comment in response to post
There isn’t a single person in this thread that needs you to explain anything to them so no idea why you’re bothering to litter the comments with nonsensical attacks only to moan about it afterwards.
comment in response to post
You’ve definitely misunderstood the context of that original reply. Either that or you’re simply looking for an argument.

Not having one I guess 😂

So Patricio Manuel would be permitted to fight in the womens competition if he stopped taking testosterone?
comment in response to post
What do you mean by that though? Someone born female?
comment in response to post
Ok so if Patricio Manuel is sex tested and found to be female, he can compete in women’s events?
comment in response to post
That’s my question - who is ‘allowed’ to compete in the women’s competition. Female at birth? Or another qualifier.

“About half (51.0%) of all public-funded research and development in financial year ending 2022 was performed in the Greater South East, which consists of the International Territorial Level 1 (ITL1) regions of London, the South East and the East of England.” www.ons.gov.uk/economy/gove...

“Throughout this century, London has had more investment per capita than the UK, but the difference grew significantly since the 2008 financial crisis. By 2019, real GFCF per Londoner was about 50% higher than that per Briton.” data.london.gov.uk/blog/investm...

This is from your original response - “London accounted for £133 billion of total identifiable spend, the highest in England at 15% of the total.” www.gov.uk/government/s...

Even the link you posted in an attempt to prove me wrong showed that London receives a disproportionate amount of funding when compared to the rest of the U.K.
comment in response to post
It being an ‘interesting question’ with no clear, immediate answer is the entire argument.
comment in response to post
Discussed in other comments. TLDR: He wouldn’t need testosterone to fight women. How do you regulate who is allowed in the women’s competition?
comment in response to post
So to answer my earlier question, Patricio Manuel would be permitted to compete in the women’s competition if he stopped taking testosterone?
comment in response to post
That’s exactly the point I was making when you posted the public funding figures. YOU were only looking at one area of investment.
comment in response to post
I posted a link in my last response, although there are many, many others that show the investment disparity should you choose to continually ignore that one.
comment in response to post
How do you define who is allowed to compete in the women’s competition?
comment in response to post
Even your own link states that 58% the businesses backed located outside of the capital, which means that 42% goes directly into London when compared to the WHOLE OF THE UK - London gets almost HALF.
comment in response to post
Strongest growth because they’re so far behind. I’m surprised the notion that London receiving more investment is even in contention. www.pensioncorporation.com/news-insight...
comment in response to post
Is that a question, or your answer to my question? Patricio does box against men. With these rules in place do you think he should: a) continue b) stop taking T and fight women c) be banned from both by default
comment in response to post
I’m not sure it does…. What is your answer to this? Patricio simply isn’t allowed to compete at all?
comment in response to post
My figures are correct, as are yours - but you’re discounting private investment. Over two-thirds of all UK equity investment occurs in London and the South East, and private investment in London is at least twice that of public investment. This has a massive effect overall.
comment in response to post
If he was fighting women he wouldn’t need testosterone.
comment in response to post
Correct, not sure what this has to do with the conversation though.
comment in response to post
London receives nearly twice as much investment per person as the English average (£6,058 vs £3,316) despite accounting for just 23.3% of GDP
comment in response to post
Don’t worry, using this logic Patricio Manuel will be fighting women again soon.
comment in response to post
Standard. Full of talk about issues and then either votes against changes or doesn’t even show up.

It doesn’t even need to be socialist, just something more balanced than full on capitalism would do.

If it’s a naming competition then Bristol McBristolface would be the only correct answer
