Yes! Middle aged women make up at least 70% of every group I've ever volunteered with, and they're the hard-core stayers - will volunteer at one site for years, and are dependable rain, hail and shine. We watch the young folk and blokes come and go.

Tiresome Russian propaganda. You should know better. You go do your research on Russian war crimes.

Are you saying that 36 people killed in a riot warrants a Russian invasion that has killed many thousands? What is your point?
comment in response to post
That's nonsense. It was a riot, with people killed and injured on both sides. The Russian speaking population were also aggressors in this. And Russia has since murdered thousands of civilians in Ukraine, many of them Russian speaking.

What's your point? This wasn't violence perpetrated by Ukraine against another state, it was a civil disturbance.

Seconded - palliative care (eg with prednisone) is a gentle and life-quality affirming approach if there's no clear and acceptable way to a cure. Warm wishes to you and kitty.

The lights on in the building ... heartbreaking.

This being Australia, there's a wildlife warning: cassowaries can be extremely dangerous (hint, those claws could shred you) and should not be approached in the wild. Especially if there are young around. Please do not attempt to film a bird up close like this. Same goes for kangaroos.

Rupert is all about money and power. He doesn't believe in anything except money and power. Took his own kids to court over money and power.

That ship has sailed. US is allied with Russia now, and Israel, which makes Iran a thorny problem, but they'll all lie their way out of it.
comment in response to post
Tucker doesn't like it because Iran is an ally of Russia and supplier of weapons that are used to kill Ukrainians, which is all just tickety-boo with Tucker. So for Tucker, Iran is a friendly state that needs to be protected. It's a funny old world.

I suspect she would still be opposed to a war with Iran because, well, that's the Kremlin's position. Interested to see how Trump's team navigate Israel's war and Putin’s outrage now that Trump has virtually taken credit for it.

Some good news, thanks!

That 'God bless you all' at the end is a bit startling, given just how DEAD everyone is.

If Russia didn't have nukes it would have been squashed beyond recognition by now.

I'm just too flabbergasted to attempt a coherent response to this one.

And yes, Daniel Andrews was fantastic during covid. The antivaxx mob still hate him.

Zelenskyy is doing the same in Ukraine. He's combating Russian misinformation by being relentlessly active, visible and on message.

The boozing isn't the main issue. This idiot is making appallingly bad decisions, not the least of which is the US abandonment of Ukraine so Trump and his investor buddies can make deals with Russia. Drunk or sober, he's dangerous: inexperienced, arrogant and easily manipulated.

So, holding hands with Russia and singing kumbaya?

Because Russians - just the sort of folk you want to cosy up to. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

www.msn.com/en-ie/news/w... Hegseth is making savings by withdrawing support for Ukraine, because the priority for the US now is buddying with Russia in a fruitless attempt to break the Russia-China bond. These people are destroying the US and its alliances from the inside.

They especially love his work on immigration - 83%. These figures would need to change drastically for the government to change its policies.

Interesting. My own vision of hell would be a line-up of sternly disapproving bearded Russian men. Different strokes.

I have a similar story about my dog, except it wasn't a nice little cow pie, it was something unspeakable, of human origin. She was delighted.

C'mon. Eating the occasional insect doesn't imply your brain is dependent on meat; it shows the animal is an opportunistic eater feeder. It's ok to admit you eat meat just because you like it, but your beautifully evolved human body can survive perfectly well without meat.

He famously called the Soviet Union the Evil Empire. He'd be horrified to see the US pandering to a truly evil leader like Putin, as it is now doing.

You're wrong about incisors and binocular vision. Go check out a gorilla, vegetarian and possessor of both characteristics. And btw, you evolved to reproduce. You didn't evolve to take medicines, go to college, read books etc; these are benefits of civilisation. As is choosing a kind diet.

One minute she's enmeshed in a cult; the next, she's running errands for the Kremlin and feeding state secrets into open AI. Crazy gal.

Thank you for sharing the article. It's a tough read.

My point is that in a collision, a big tank is more likely to kill the people it runs into. A wee Renault Twingo is much less likely to.

www.9news.com.au/national/syd... Sure, well, let's see what happens when the driver is sober. Just 2 dead kids this time, so perhaps you have a point.

The very size of these cars is what makes them dangerous. A small car is much less dangerous to pedestrians but drivers of 4WDs only care about their own damn kids www.news.com.au/national/nsw...

Happy for it to be spent on defence, but instead of subs, which may not be delivered until after we're all toast, how about a few million drones and a few thousand drone operators and some fancy aircraft and air defence. A sea drone could take out a sub or a warship.

According to the UN, it's 'Russian Language Day', and to celebrate I have been cleaning the cat's litter tray.

Did Rubio also put out a statement commemorating the UN's International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression on 3rd June? Somehow seems related.
