Whaaaaat? The series fans are identical, right? Is this related to back emf in the motors or something like that? I'm totally stumped.

Have to assume this part is about FF6's Decisive Battle theme.

These shorts are still such beautiful work, but I'll admit I did notice the scientist's arms grow CRAZY LONG for a moment when he is pulling the lower levers, especially the right arm given where his shoulder is. Looks a bit like Kamaji the boiler room operator in Spirited Away, haha.

"That GenAI outputs are bullshit is not an observation about their accuracy: to bullshit is to be unconcerned with the truth, and accurate reports can serve as bullshit. As such, 'hallucination' is a misleading term: it gives the impression that GenAI *wants* to report on the world..."

"That is, GenAI is designed to produce a particular reaction in its users—to convince its users of the usefulness of the response—rather than to say something true of the world. They are, then, fundamentally bullshitters."

Yeah, great example of what was gnawing at the back of my mind! All I could come up with was Dirac deltas but I knew that wasn't it.

I appreciate shells that look like other things, like the harpy and servitor ones, but I prefer whimsy. My three characters run Ladylike (ladybug), Cabana (straw hat), and Confectionary (gingerbread). Sometimes Jubilant (beachball). The prettiest ones IMO are Filigree of Light and Sagira ofc.

Media outlets have cast those misrepresenting and attacking “BLM”—“CRT”—“wokeism”—“DEI”—antiracism as “conservative,” covering up what they have been: racist. Which makes sense. For media outlets to describe this backlash as racist is to end up describing their role in the backlash as racist.

So here’s a question: Does anyone have recommendations for selling high-value slabbed comics — or like… a single one? I know there’s eBay but I also know what their fees are like. Also reskeets for advice outside my immediate circle are welcome!

Time to re-read what is probably my favorite @theonion.com article of all time: theonion.com/new-e-toilet...

Indeed! Which then makes one think about the mixed, but seemingly growing evidence she mentions that whole-class interventions might be doing more harm than good... If the only thing we have the personnel to actually do turns out to be worse than doing nothing, then... :( :( :(

Thanks for the fun article! With the batteries, it says "Lithium AAs come in two types: non-rechargeable versions that cram in as much power as possible..." I think that should technically say "as much energy as possible" instead of power? Or maybe "juice" if you want something informal.

Probably the same people who somehow thought you said cozy games are actually nazi games.

When a student told me they were confused, I would say they are ahead of the students who don’t even know they are confused yet.

I have not. I do have a WoT book fan friend (who also likes the show) that implied some big deal stuff happens, much like your question does. But I (gladly!) have no idea what it is.

I'm in total agreement that Google search has gone WAY downhill over the last decade. It's a struggle to find anything more nuanced than "website of big company whose name I typed into the query box".
