Gnight folks youtu.be/cwxOQ2BuzEo?...

90.  We Are Fugazi From Washington DC (Star & Shadow, 2023) 1. I love this band 2. The Amy Pickering version of Suggestion made me tearful 3. Guy Piciotto - that Sesame Street looking motherfucker - is the sexiest man ever. 4. I love this band

89.  The Phoenician Scheme (Tyneside, 2025) Well it took a dozen movies but despite having some of the most beautiful shots of Anderson's career, this left me completely cold. Possibly a little bored even. It didn't raise a smile. This is making me very sad.

Reviewed Richard Dawson I enjoyed it LOL narcmagazine.com/live-review-...

Ironically on Stereolab release day, my pal's sort-of-dostadning continues and I reap the benefits

Nora Guthrie - Emily's Illness

88.  The Long Goodbye (Amazon, 1973) '...Altman undermines the premise of all private eye movies, which is that the hero can walk down mean streets, see clearly, + tell right from wrong. The man of honor from 1953 is lost in the hazy narcissism of 1973, + it’s not all right with him' - Roger Ebert

AD ASTRA youtu.be/4bPt8ogn4SU?...

❤️ youtu.be/FTSF5pVml_0?... Goodnight folks. Find someone who looks at you the way Simon looks at Patty

87.  Dinner In America (Tyneside, 2020) I love this fucking movie a little more each time I see it. So good to finally see it on a big screen

86.  Good One (Tyneside, 2024) This is a remarkable film told mostly through a young woman's face. Everything is understated and open, so an offhand comment is like dropping a grenade. It looks beautiful, the sound design is immersive + the soundtrack (Mary Lattimore! Connie Converse!) is gorgeous.

85.  Hallow Road (Tyneside, 2025) Essentially a two-hander, this would have worked better as a play. Because then it would have been shown in a theatre. And I wouldn't have seen it. (Substandard Tales Of The Unexpected nonsense with bonus middle class peril).

Today's selection (and one for Friday too)

And with that, I was changed forever... youtu.be/aJakfWp-eMQ?...

Three years gone. Still kinda aches youtu.be/SxW6xel0MjU?... This is so prescient it smarts

Reviewed the excellent new Death & Vanilla album on Fire Records narcmagazine.com/album-review...

I'm rewatching season 1 of The Last Of Us and I'd forgotten how fucking brutal episode five (Endure & Survive) is 😬😞

Also I know very little about Aimee Lou Wood but she's picked 3 of my very favourite films here youtu.be/LDGACubU99g?...

For a long time now I've claimed This Must Be The Place as my all time favourite song but it's way too popular a choice so I'm changing it to Panacea's Tron (RMX) youtu.be/qp3nLmzPoSM?... Please play this at my funeral.

They can shut the Criterion Closet now because Natasha Lyonne can never be bettered. And also, she took ALL the films youtu.be/sNUAkiIoTFk?...

Strong mood youtu.be/ztKNzjgshfY?...

Had cause to remember what a lovely soundtrack this is (to an unbelievably lovely movie) so...

Sometimes I forget about this, which is stupid because it's absolutely glorious. That perfect melancholy / uplifting/ dancing with tears in your eyes minor key banger youtu.be/TZ7w5lxaKTQ?...

Absolute gem which Catherine just reminded me about youtu.be/15VFP6Cs-to?...

Finished Ken Burns' Vietnam. Astonishing stuff. Everyone seems to have a voice and although there are arguments online about its flaws or biases, it seems evenhanded. 1/2

Richard Dawson KILLING it at The Glasshouse last night

Calling all my Dorset homiez - they're discussing Blue Vinny and Dorset Knob biscuits on Radio 4's Kitchen Cabinet.

This year, more than ever

Gnight folks youtu.be/Hh-0y8Qe0Sw?...
