*I made the mistake of reading the comments on a facebook post for a restaurant that closed on the date we had the highest heat. There was some jackass going off about how he works outside regardless of temperature all day and day... just screaming that everyone else is just weak...

I don't get it. Why are people seemingly so convinced that working in miserable conditions is in any way acceptable? That it's some how a sign they're a better person than anyone else who doesn't want to take that kind of a risk with their life?

And I hear it all the time from people who should damn well know better. People who want me to be on their side supporting their issues. You CANNOT act like everything was always fine without xyz thing. Not when there is actual evidence that things were not always fine.

I always have trouble with this. I TRY not to but there is a part of my brain (and it's most likely anxiety related) that screams "jokes mean they're not taking things seriously and are absolutely not safe to be around" - I'm working on this concept because I know it's not the always the truth.

Will return to the gym at some point to practice more. Might look into finding a group to join or something. But I'm going to guess most groups are in the weekday evenings after work..... I prefer first thing in the mornings on the weekends. 9am was a good time!

I cannot emphasize this enough that for YEARS: -trans women played various women’s sports. -trans kids got medical assistance as they and their parents needed. -trans folk could get accurate documents. -trans folk used the bathrooms that felt appropriate. AND NOTHING BAD HAPPENED.

Yeah people don’t seem it realize or accept that anti-discrimination laws don’t do anything to protect you as long as the potential employer doesn’t admit anything. “Not a good fit” covers a multitude of sins

You probably said it somewhere already but also thinking of medical supplies insurance won't cover. My hearing aids / the chargers they came with weren't covered. I'm pretty sure something is going wrong with one of the chargers and I'll have to replace it. So that's another expense.
