Done.

go ahead, post another "both sides" take. tell me about cafeteria complaints and affinity group graduations at liberal arts colleges set the groundwork for today's DHS. write another essay comparing the domestic mobilization of the military to the social dynamics of leftist group chats.

Brody King shared a post about what is happening in LA right now on Instagram. #AEW 🤼

Presidentialism was a mistake

"Our support and solidarity with people who are struggling for human dignity and justice should not depend on their knowing anything about us! Solidarity is not a market exchange. It’s not, you need to give us your love and we’ll give you ours!" black-ink.info/2020/01/16/s...

🤣😆🤣

Candidly, as a civ-mil watcher, this scene at Bragg is freaking me out more than anything else that's happened so far. Just an absolute collapse of professional military norms.

Posting this 1967 Birmingham News editorial cartoon for all the people who don't realize that this is how MLK was viewed by a big chunk of white America.

You know it’s bad when financial advisors are broadcasting advice to clients on how to live abroad.

This is right out of the dystopian scifi we've long had. It was predicted by experts, art, activists, anyone who gave a damn. It was predictable because it was already present in existing forms of surveillance and control going all the way back (and beyond) to things like the Fugitive Slave Act.

the idea of fingerwagging your way into protest discipline is deeply delusional for a number of reasons, chief among which is that the cops' decisions are among the biggest determinants of how protests ago. it's like being perplexed at people for using umbrellas while ignoring the weather

It's hard to overstate how destructive the reflexive "this is a distraction!" stuff that politicians and commentators and people are always peddling. Everything is happening all at once. That's how authoritarianism works. If you can't navigate and synthesize this, you're not meeting the moment.

I haven’t watched the Sunday news shows in over two decades but decided to see what This Week was up to. lol, their powerhouse roundtable consists of Chris Christie, Reince Priebus and Donna Brazile. Anyhoo, it reconfirmed that I don’t learn anything meaningful by watching.

Something’s up with my sourdough starter. Not necessarily bad, but my ferment and proof times have decreased dramatically, and it can’t be explained by environmental change. I started mixing at 7am this morning and the boule was out of the oven by 2:30 pm.

Lies!

What's going on in LA should be a real wakeup call for folks who don't already know that a fully liberal government can still wind up a police state and without some major change to the way we talk about the militarization of policing, nothing will get better

Can’t remember where I saw it but someone said recently, during the Korean attempted coup, that it basically comes down to whether soldiers are willing to fire on their fellow citizens.

If you know something about a visible protester no you fuckin don’t
