The thing that keeps people safe is having a community willing to actually stop people like ICE, stand in their way, hide them. Courts and laws are and have always been useless, even more so in times like these.

To be fair, he's also really stupid, and not actually that good with technology, he just has emerald blood money to buy tech companies because those are perceived as profitable, and those in charge are perceived as smart.

While it is nice, in the end, a court order is just a piece of paper, not magic. When have laws and courts stopped this administration from deporting people whenever they feel like?

It's the same thing as Potterheads now, too, more concerned with "it's a comfort to me, it's familiar" than what consumption of it does to everyone else. As long as they get theirs, everyone else can go to hell, as far as they're concerned.
