Not necessarily in an "I am one with nature" way, though they're empathic, but more in a "the empathtic abilities and wild flora and fauna on their world lead them to unique expertise in this field". Probably decent terraformer breakthroughs abound from that expertise, too.

A scout or survey ship with maybe, at most, 12 crew, and maybe 4 in the engineering department as whole. Only one giant size superdeck, few amenities beyond quarters, a common lounge, and at most a small garden bay. Small community of folks days away from a starbase would be interesting.
