I think the comics circle really underestimate how much people WANT to support creators, and so the paternalistic attempts at guilt-tripping anti-scans psas will always strike a sour note. The issue will always come down to primarily access and discovery.

It's been clarified ad repeatedly that Hoyoverse games do not provide AI protections for anyone in the US or the UK or really anyone outside of China and Singapore.
They refused to sign any protections in writing. So actors went on strikes.
And the fandom continues to harass the Voice Actors.
