The main problem I see with higher education is that it’s being treated like a consumer product, but the US News and World Report rankings fucked up the market signals. The politicization occurring at UF is also bad for education, really bad, but I think we were already in trouble.

I love the NYC subway. I feel confident and safe taking it. That being said, last time I was in NYC in December my sister and I, later at night were aggressively eyeballed and then shouted at on the subway by a man who wanted us to know that he “didn’t like Jews.”

Just days ago, Brad Lander called me to interpret for an Arabic-speaking asylee whose case was approved, yet ICE was still harassing him inside the building. Brad personally escorted him out to safety. He does this kind of work quietly, every day.
