The GOP is literally trying to murder thousands of people so rich motherfuckers can accelerate the looting of our country. I am always angry about this. Every second of every day. I try not to scream constantly here because that's not useful, but sometimes, damn. It just builds up.

A lot of people are simply LAZY and it has to be said. "Who else can we vote for besides Cuomo?" said in the most LAZY and WHINY voice. Bitch, THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLE YOUR ASS CAN VOTE FOR, loser.

A thing I think is kind of messed up is that we’ve stopped considering ‘being evil’ to be a moral failing in a person

As a reminder, this is a permanent resident, in the US since she was seven, high school valedictorian www.nytimes.com/2025/03/24/n...

“Barnard and Columbia issued interim suspensions Thursday afternoon to four student journalists who covered a Wednesday pro-Palestinian protest in Butler Library, citing “information received” from Public Safety indicating the reporters’ alleged involvement in the protest”

this is maybe trite at this point but it is in your interest to find ways to create things. basically everyone wants you to be consuming nonstop. making stuff, from cooking to photography or whatever, can help you feel more in control. doesn’t even have to be something you share with other people

we have done so much to reduce friction on market transactions, such as broadly guaranteeing that the milk will not kill your child, and we’re throwing it all away

It's cool, and feels amazing, to realize that we're going to have a recession because the president thinks that kids have too many dolls now. It's obviously very stupid, but feeling like you should/do have the right to discipline other people's kids is also a core conservative value.

got a wild idea here folks. what if we took the harshest, most extreme possible indication of what somebody we mostly agree with says and then dunk on that. and then they can do it back to us. we can spend months doing this on every conceivable topic. this will build solidarity somehow

this is bad bad - "The survey shows a steep decline in the number of parents reading aloud to young children, with 41% of 0- to four-year-olds now being read to frequently, down from 64% in 2012." Reading to your kids is one of the strongest early life interventions possible!

Anne Frank died in a foreign prison from an illness acquired from the inhumane conditions. I don’t know why this doesn’t click for people.

very important to read “broccoli haired” to mean a specific type of man here bc to me any broad gen z politcal hate just reads as misogyny

would love to see the numbers on gen z vs millennial+ women’s use of temu and shein, bc I feel like yall see cool fits and just assume fast fashion not realizing fast fashion is knocking off the cool fits

Ongoing pattern that extends from foreign students, to Governors, to CEOs. Presenting any information that undermines the state narrative is "hostile" with the implication that it will be punished with retribution from the state. This is the strategy of a weak regime afraid of transparency.

I feel like we haven't been harsh enough on the 58 Democrats who voted for the Laken Riley Act. What an insanely evil and politically stupid thing to do as Trump began his mass deportation campaign. They endorsed all of this, and it wasn't like it was an unforeseeable outcome.

good job kiddos now if you’re looking for tips and strategies for working in coalition against a powerful amoral force, maybe ask some of the students and professors you suspended last year they’re good at it

A shameful, pathetic act, underscored by the fact that the ICE statement was issued by a spokesperson who refused to be identified. Challenging the government is a duty of a free people.

Right-wing American Catholics *really* do not get how much right-wing American Evangelicals hate them.

Harvard’s position is that they will be anti-Palestinian on their own terms. Remember that.

One thing I've learned from "In Bed with the Right" is how a lot of people went along with Hitler because they felt he was a clown who would self-implode, so they didn't need to waste political capital resisting him. Schumer should listen! open.spotify.com/episode/0api...

Here we go. US born citizen in ICE custody.

Dear Lisa Murkowski, in 1974 the president was so afraid of congress that he choose to resign rather than face them over a breaking and entering charge.

The US could easily afford universal Healthcare, UBI, and have plenty left over for infrastructure, science, space, and education. This has been the case for basically forever, but it now must be the basis of the political opposition campaign.

RFK Jr. said people with autism will never play sports and Eva on this season of Survivor said SUCK IT

Marco Rubio says that Americans living in Europe shouldn't ever have to face any ramifications for their political speech online. The chutzpah is jaw-dropping, as he is PERSONALLY trying to deport legal immigrants for their political speech in the United States.

We’re now deep in the red zone for our constitution & democracy. They disappeared a lawful resident. The courts ordered his return. They refused, saying they can’t force Bukele to do so. Bukele now says he can’t send him back. If this holds, they can disappear anyone. No due process. Permanently.🧵

The Trump admin has just detained Mohsen Mahdawi, who: –has green card –was Columbia Buddhist club president –saw his best friend shot & killed by Israeli soldier –said "we are against antisemitism because antisemitism is a form of injustice, and injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere"

Alan Garber’s message in response to further unconstitutional demands from the administration. “We have informed the administration through our legal counsel that we will not accept their proposed agreement. The University will not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights.”

“Bluesky is too much of an echo chamber” have you spent five minutes in a political discussion here

abolish ice is the compromise

You’d think when you’re claiming the richest country in the world can’t afford childhood cancer research you might wait a year before throwing yourself a 100 million dollar birthday parade. But carpe diem, suckers.

Boycotting the grocery store until they start buying an equivalent volume of groceries from me
