Watch as this LAPD cop takes deliberate aim at an Australian reporter, then shoots her at close range. I would fire the police chief over this. Inexcusable thuggery.

Major General Randy E. Manner, former Acting Vice Chief, National Guard Bureau statement to Fox News: "This is an inappropriate use of the National Guard and is not warranted.”

The people urging no-riots also aren't acknowledging that we've been having large peaceful protests against this admin since inauguration, and they barely make the news. Law enforcement is escalating. At least mention that, but also say it's been peaceful all along, and things are getting worse.

How is this brutality ok?

More of this please!

my full conversation tonight with Governor Newsom inside the L.A. County Emergency Operations Center. www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/...

The worst people. 🤮

BREAKING: Kamala Harris issues statement on Los Angeles.

The letter below from Newsom’s legal secretary to Hegseth reads the statute Trump invoked to require Newsom’s approval. This is a very plausible reading of the statute. Whether SCOTUS will agree, should it come to that (and it very well might not) is another question.

@governor.ca.gov formally requests that the Trump Administration “rescind the unlawful deployment of troops in Los Angeles County” and return them to his command:

How extreme is the June 7 Memorandum on federalizing the National Guard? One of several issues: It has NO geographic limit. None. No mention of California or any other state. It's open-ended. Now this from President Trump: "Well, we're going to have troops everywhere."⬇️

“People came over to help and got me on the curb. A medic was called, who cut off my clothes. In my leg was what felt like a five centimeter hole with muscle hanging out of it and blood all down my leg. The medic put a tourniquet on it, and a journalist I was with took me to ER.”

Bad take. Bad timing. Bad. 😞

On the left, residents cleaning up their streets. On the right, federalized Guard arriving to quell "violent mobs." You can see some holding their assault rifles. www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

I can not disagree with this take more. The military parade will be a parade of force and intimidation by wanna-be authoritarians. It fits right alongside the outsized military display in CA right now—making the same point.

This conference in Moscow is an incredible and revealing rogue's gallery. The speakers include Lavrov, Errol Musk (Elon's father), Alex Jones, George Galloway, Konstantin Malofeev. And Jeff Sachs. Oh Jeff, how has it come to this?

Critically important point from Juliette. The only real justification for federalizing the nat guard over a governors objection is when the civil authorities are defying the law. This is attack on the sovereign right of the people of California to self government.

California representatives did a check in where migrants were being detained. They found no beds, no food and no water. Children were among the detained.

Gathering of fascists in Moscow, Elon Musk's father in attendance

Welcome to America, where protesting illegal kidnappings without due process is an insurrection, but attacking the nation’s Capitol is not.

President Miller is at the White House, though

Imagine putting on all this tactical gear and latching onto a military assault vehicle so you can storm a minimall on Sepulveda and apprehend a line cook at family restaurant.

These are the proactive steps states need to be taking right now. Another thing: every Democratic governor needs to have a sit-down now with the state adjutant general to carefully review that person's understanding of their responsibilities to their state, its citizens and the federal constitution.

The problem is not that there are too many Americans protesting in the streets. The problem is that there are not enough. Not by a long shot.

So do we get why I was banned from speaking about Pinochet at the Naval Academy now?

This is patently unlawful, if the Marines are being used for regular civilian law enforcement on the whim of the SecDef.

Just to recap, Trump has taken the extraordinary step of federalizing 2000 member of the California National Guard — over the objections of the state’s governor — in response to a protest that currently involves A FEW DOZEN PEOPLE AT A HOME DEPOT

White House: "Violent mobs have attacked ICE officers and Federal Law Enforcement Officers." LAPD: "Today, demonstrations across the City of Los Angeles remained peaceful."

😳

Some sticklers might say that using the instruments of the state to harass personal enemies is not actually an option for the president of our constitutional republic.

ICE has arrested more than 2000 people—workers, day laborers, parents picking up children from school, students—in LA today. I can barely fucking concentrate

Ugh. Supreme Court permits stage to have access to sensitive Social Security data, over the sense of the three progressives. With the Trump- Musk feud increasingly, bitter, and Musk loyalists in place at DOGE, it’s a dangerous situation.

These are the types of privacy violations that will cause irreversible harm.

Bondi DOJ has a problem. On left: DOJ Indictment and Detention Memo allege Abrego Garcia lied to officer by not revealing he was coming from Texas On right: DHS Referral Report: "Subject stated he was driving 'three days ago' (11/27/2022) from Houston, TX to Temple Hills, MD (via St Louis, MO)"

Phil says Schrader’s response was “no comment” Seems like if he saw something bad he should comment. A man’s life hangs in the balance. And God only knows how many others.

Every single person involved in this decision making process should be ostracized & blacklisted. What an astounding dereliction of duty and care for students

Am I surprised? No. My alma mater has a lot of skeletons in the closet (like most big institutions). This is why I always laugh when the right claims universities are these communist bastions. Beyond laughable.

Such a bad look, @umich.edu. cc: @barbmcquade.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

The bots on X are truly confused, which is fascinating to watch.
