The secret of propaganda: Those who are to be persuaded should be completely immersed in its ideas without noticing."
"That propaganda is good which leads to success, and that is bad which fails to achieve the desired result."

Goebbels:
"Good propaganda does not need to lie... It is only a matter of presenting the truth in a way people will understand."
"Propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated are confident they are acting on their own free will."

Read goebels, hitlers and himmlers quotes from nazi germany and you get the same, I don’t think he reads but is following the playbook.

Also an environmental nightmare, read about Musk’s xAI in Texas where electrical generators are ruining quality of life. AI will do harm to environment. It cause high unemployment economic stress and more moves to wealth to the rich.

I’ve worked in computers for 35 years and have welcomed all advances in tech, but what I have AI doing replaces JR team members work. So a persons job is replaced by xx megawatts of computing power paid to a Saudi Billionaire company, the rich get richer and unemployment skyrockets. Tap the Brakes!

So I think FEMA, tariff price increases and some repercussions of lack of (undocumented) workers will be obvious fast and will be owned by current administration. Stuff like no medical research, NOAA, tax changes will take longer. And yea the people voting third party to punish Biden….

So the budget cuts numbers are over 9 (10??) years over the life of the budget/bill. But each year the same percentage is cut so effects will be seen soon. Damage to federal agencies will take many years to fix. So like next president will take hit for not fixing fema fast enough

I had tried registering it with a free sms website, and had issues. ( once the shared phone number already had been used). My feeling is just get a cheap, prepaid burner. If what you are sharing can get you fired or in trouble, don’t risk your daily phone giving away your id

Maybe the founding fathers should have put 1st and 2nd amendments at the end of the bill or rights, so people would read them to the end.

Signal exposes a phone number that you need to register it with. It’s good for secure, but not anonymous, communication. Really if you are discussing something sensitive you probably want more than a quick post on Bluesky. Burner phone, proton vpn, proton email, signal.

As a point of pride, I would think that UK people will be 'elbows up' and start rejecting US beef (and other items) when shopping. Eventually the consumer has to select things, and where they can tell country of origin, can act how they want.

I was at the Rodeo a few weeks ago, and in our 70% trump voting county, there were only a couple of MAGA hats and trump shirts. I don't think they all have given up, but they have doubts now. I think when walmart and tractor supply shelves go empty and prices shoot up, then FindOut happens.

100% agree, I hate how much time and energy this guy has taken from me the last 10 years. I didn’t agree with Bush a lot but he didn’t do something outrageous. Every. Single. Day.

Yes, so either an ICE agent gets shot and the civilian claims he was scared and didn’t know it was ICE. Or the ICE agent guns someone down while not in uniform. It’s a common problem with stand your ground is who was the ‘Aggressor’. It will be a mess and controversial

I’m waiting to see stand your ground shootouts with ICE. With a flak vest and balaclava from Amazon anybody can look like an ice agent

There are price trackers like keepa that will give you a price history graph. This will show increases from Input price changes (eg: steel, aluminum) that raise prices w/o direct tariff effects.

I grew up in Nampa and left right after college. I get depressed hearing their far right abortion bans etc. It is heartening to see that even in Idaho, there are people not on board with what is going on.

It would seem that if based on retail price, then I would hope is is based on average 'actual paid' price than the sticker price with all the discounts you run.

I have an honest question, On what value do the tarrifs apply? Say a pair of pliers, $8 for Quinn, 13 for Doyle, and maybe 19 for icon. Does US customs charge tarrifs on the Retail Value, The Wholesale value, or just xxx for a pair of pliers.

And where are the DEMs with the messaging "We can easily stop this if your congressman would stand up for you." We should be killing on this messaging point, that congress can stop tarrifs.

That and states should be responsible for disasters and we should limit FEMA is a real kick in the nuts. Also remember the 30 dead from tornados last weekend that is now forgotten.

So lets just say that Schumer wins and lets the CR go through. In September when this needs to happen again, Johnson in the house will then add even more to the shit sandwich that Schumer needs to eat. Appease a bully, get it worse the next time.
