He's been a good pro at Gala. 35 goals in 39 appearances. Hard to know what the strategy is for Slot's flagship 9. He had Gimenez at Feyenoord. Traditional 9. Maybe they view Wirtz as transformational. If it isn't possible, they'll revert back to a 9.

He's not without quality, but it's not channelled very well on a consistent basis. The quality in possession isn't present.

I listened to a Duncan Castles podcast a few weeks back. He said Perez/Real now target top players and strategically tell them to wind down their contracts. They've an expanded Bernabeau to pay for.

Fresh as a daisy. 50 year old Mark Williams was in two long wars with Higgins/Trump. Not taking anything away from Zhao. Too much of a deficit i reckon.
