I've been spending some time working out the Stan code underlying simple brms models, and I think I'm going to write a few #rstats blogs walking out the topic. Who'd be interested in peer reviewing the posts? Basic fluency with brms and rstan would be required.

Spent 5 hours preparing a journal article for the specific formatting of a particular journal. Really living the science dream over here.

Librarians are trying to plan for the 45% reduction of ERIC. While the Department of Education has not (yet) released a title list of journals that are being de-selected, we're trying to create a list via a grassroots effort. View and contribute journal titles here: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

White House says no one will be fired over the Signal scandal because no one involved was trying to cure cancer.

Hot take of the day: Adding new reviewers after a journal article has already been revised should be a felony. OK, well, at least discouraged.

Look, I love ABCT, but this cannot actually be useful information for presentation reviewers and just creates more work for authors/submissions: Please provide a brief (2-3 sentence), de-identified description of the expertise of the contributing team as it relates to this submission

The US military has removed photos of the B-29 bomber “Enola Gay” — which dropped the first atomic bomb on Japan — apparently because it contains the word “gay,” which violates their new anti-DEI rules.

In Minnesota, we value the people who care for our veterans, even if DOGE doesn’t. If Trump fired you, come work for the State of Minnesota and help take care of our vets.

A friend included this anti-acknowledgement section on her PhD thesis. She also added the proposition: “Systematic bullying and undermining of girls and women in STEM starts early on and is the reason why they do not stay in science and related fields.” Absurd we still need to go through this 🧪👩‍🔬

I am writing a paper that I am so jazzed about and I just cannot wait to learn all the ways that the reviewers hate it!
