The way the US is moving to the far right, when will book burning be the norm?

Looking from the outside living in the UK.
1. How many US Police Officers are killed in the line of duty?
2. From these figures of the officers killed, what is the racial mix.
3. Like all large organisations there are bad apples in the barrel.

Its,the same sort of post that pro EU state about Brexit. You ask to verify and list the costs and things go quiet. Dont believe it, ask to verify the statement

One can only hope the trump voters are disproportionately affected by this. Serves them right

Well, looking at how the UK compared with its Europe A. Neighbours it performed well. I think France was ahead, post covid, then UK next, the rest of Eurozone performed less well.

A stupid unsubstantiated claim. This is the type of hype Brussels levels on the UK over Brexit.

I don't like Musk. However, a parents worst nightmare is losing a child. Let's be respectful of his grief and gave him space.

I have never witnessed any racism in Europe . However, I have seen plenty of people loudly accusing others of, often the same individuals who seek to erase European history. Simply labeling something as racist does not make it true. It’s time to stand up and call out this deception for what it is.

No, we in the UK are just glad we are not living under the new fascist regime in the US.

You moron, the wealthiest 10% pay the most.
Nought to do with Farage. Farage and Reform have saved this country 22Billion per year paying into Brussels. We don't need to be part of a such a profligate organisation like the EU

It doesn't really matter, that fact that the a US can elect such a person means it is not a partner but something far far more transactional. At this moment in time the US is but another rogue nation along with Iran, Russia and North Korea.

Canada, Europe and UK need to work together and isolate the Rogue state on Canada's southern border

Not enough, what Numpties are still buying Tesla's in Europe. Tesla needs to exit the European market, it will not be missed

To increase European defence will take some years. However, this MUST NOT BE SPENT on US Armaments, that would allow Trump and his successors leverage on European supply. Europe MUST increase its military spending with European armaments companies ONLY. Europe is then in control of its defence

Let's hope so, unemployment beckoning for the very same voters of Trump. Hard to feel bad about that

Your allies consider the US a rogue state. Your friends now include North Korea, China, Iran, Russia and new boy on the block the USA.

No it doesnt. It says we don't like bullies. You should know a large part of your public voted for a imbecile

Evil people are easy to spot. Stupid people don't know they are stupid and are far more dangerous.

Alas its called the bonhoeffer effect. You can't argue with dumb people. The don t know they are dumb

The US has lost its position as leader of the free world, even after Trump has gone. The fact that the the voters can vote a criminal to the Whitehouse defines the US as just another problem country, it is just the degree at any point in time

Correct Stephanie, we train UK residents to fill these slots, not go to the rest of the world and steal them from their countries. Got It!!

I have spent 40 years in Electronics and over that period have seen more Eastern Europeans being employed in the Electronics sector rather than train up and employ UK youth. As one high tech employer said - "Oh No we can't afford to train anybody they need to hit the street running".
comment in response to
post
Before Brexit, UK employers went to Europe for cheaper trained Labour. Post Brexit UK companies have set up training schemes for UK youth. UK youth can enjoy a better paid, more fulfilling career.
All thanks to Brexit - You are welcome

A bit like you with your distorted view of Brexit. Always the negative point of view.

I don't think a president has this power. It would face legal challenges that would out last his presidency.

Once your economy tanks, how long do you think a dictator, like Trump, will take to bring in Un American laws and arrest anti Trump protestors? I do think the US has entered a Neo Nazi period. It is very difficult to see how this will play out.

There is no growth in Europe, our future lies in the growing g CTPPT region. Farage has called it right, the EU is doomed. The US has not been a partner for some time. Fuck the special relationship, it was only in the minds of the mindless foreign office
comment in response to

Alas, the US is no better than Russia or North Korea, keep your population in the dark and feed them full of shit.

Blame your education system. It is so poor that large numbers of your US Electorate are effectively illiterate. How can these people possibly see through a bounder and charlatan like Trump.

That means feet on the ground in Ukraine. Not peace keeping but in combat. Is EUROPEAN leaders up to the job? The jury is still out !!!

We need to stop putting them in Hotels and place them in tents out of the way of society. We cannot make life easier in the UK than in France. Withdrawal from this convention is a sensible idea and once and for all sends a clear message.
comment in response to
post
This country is not a dumping ground for Economic Illegal Immigrants who can turn up and expect to be housed in Hotels. We have UK citizens living in Shit, they are our only concern. Pandering to a party that puts UK citizens first is a party for me and millions of other pissed off UK citizens
comment in response to

If they are illegal report them. We have plenty of UK citizens that need to be housed.

Don't be an idiot, when the UK joined the common market (per EU) trade did not immediately improve. The CPTTP deal is in place and this will turn into higher exports to this trade bloc. We need less trade with the EUROPEAN and more with the rest of the world.
comment in response to

The point is the US administration has to be marginslised by the rest of the world. Once Trump realises his bully tactics have backfired the world will have effectively pulled out his teeth. The eagle will turn into a budgie

Against most European countries it has outperformed them. The devil is in the detail

I think the US is more closely associated with Bonhoeffer theory. The Rednecks are the idiots and we know where evil resides
comment in response to

Hardly, the UK hasn't profited more out of Brexit Scot should have. More a problem with very poor politicians. The US isn't the only country with very a poor gene pool in politicians

Canada and UK badly need a trade deal. Get on with it
comment in response to

Correct it is not a zero sum game. It's win win or lose lose. Unemployed red necks is the eventual outcome.
comment in response to

Anything to do with Brussels is a poisoned chalice. The UK needs to forge its way in the future with partners like CPTTP. This is a growing economic power not a failing one. A youth exchange program with the CPTTP countries would be much more worthwhile
comment in response to
post
Bonhoeffer argues that stupidity is worse than evil because stupidity can be manipulated and used by evil. He also argues that stupidity tends to go hand-in-hand with acquiring power that is, being in power means we surrender our individual critical faculties.
We should be afraid, very afraid!!
