It’s kind of awesome that I couldn’t figure out what you were talking about until I decided to show the rude comments. But thanks for waiting to reply until the movie was released and we all could see you were just talking out your “bottom.”

I know, some folks are just scared to let their freak flag fly!

Jeez, yours had subtitles? Mine were straight laserdisc dupes to VHS with no subtitles. I bought Akira that way, just based on how beautiful it was, but I had absolutely no idea what happened at the end until I saw it subbed much later.

I love that Wilson and Lennon & McCartney were just whacking out masterpieces to try and top each other, over and over. “Oh yeah? Howzabout THIS?”

This is an awesome cosplay, and just once I’d like to see Squirrel Girl with an enormous floof tail.

I’m a behavior coach working with traumatized kids, and half my job is explaining to parents and grandparents “Yeah, they’re supposed to do that.”

I’ve got the same issue. Annoying, mildly painful, and once it shifts back I have to be careful with it for a few days as it happens again more easily. But not a serious problem.

My first thought was “another multi-man tag,” but then I realized that’s the perfect match for Arena Mexico.

It’s state level. It’s probably very easy to find out, just like it is for most of us.

My musical hero. RIP, Brian. And yes, “God Only Knows” is the perfect song.
comment in response to post
Brian Wilson, my musical hero. Master of harmonies, layers, and turning a simple pop song into a glorious symphony of sound. I started listening to The Beach Boys in 5th grade, the early ‘80s and have ever since. I hope Brian’s finally at peace.

Hell, there’s always great journalists. My concern is just that the media as a whole is always a business that pushes an angle. I saw your wink in your first post, btw. It’s just a subject I feel strongly about- the crusading muckraker has mostly gone away with the death of print media.

All four people in this pic are KILLING THE BUSINESS. /s

How many people have to be in the target audience before it meets your approval for news coverage? The news is out there, if you don’t want to read it, no one’s making you. There are tons of things out there that make the news because some people are interested, it don’t need to appeal to everyone.

Lines 1&2: I disagree with, but okay, that’s your opinion. Line 3: Provably wrong, WTH? Lines 4&5: Jeez, that was pretty stupid to say with no evidence. Bottom line: I can safely ignore the whole damn post.

Well, that certainly wouldn’t have drawn my ire like a blanket statement criticizing those who enjoy the Tony awards on a thread about what happened at the Tony awards.

Okay, you’re not dumb. Your post was. And when you start with a really negative comment, you’ll get a negative response. What did you expect?
comment in response to post
Sorry, those old days where the media was on “the people’s side” never existed. For every crusading reporter, there’s a publisher pushing their own agenda.

Your complaint was about the awards ceremonies. If you want to complain about what gets coverage, go ahead. Promote what you like. But here’s a hint- there’s a whole lot of New Yorkers who work in the theater industry. Complaining about a NY paper’s coverage of a NY industry is pretty dumb.
comment in response to post
For the love of Pete, what industry doesn’t have awards ceremonies? Why can’t entertainers?
comment in response to post
There’s nothing wrong with Harvey Fierstein and the award is well-deserved.

I have no idea. It’s not my concern. My point is only saying something is not banned because you can get one where you are is disingenuous to the extreme.
comment in response to post
Nice find. Isn’t that the second Deadpool appearance?
comment in response to post
This is your daily reminder that banning something does not mean it’s possible to get, it means a person or organization has forbidden its possession in a certain area. This can be a home, school, library, state, or nation.

Saw you, Howard Jones, and ABC in Denver this year. Fantastic show. And I went to see ABC, but Howard Jones (and your history lesson) made the whole thing delightful.

1) I’m guessing you’ve never had a 7 year old 2) People can be attracted to someone without it being sexual 3) For the love of God, quit trying to use the prefix “pedo” as a generic insult. It makes those of us who work with kids think you’re just an uneducated idiot. Possibly wrongly.
comment in response to post
Pride is actually about attraction and self-identification, not sexual practices. And if cheerleading was just cheering on a team, they wouldn’t be wearing such skimpy outfits, would they? I cheer on my teams while wearing t-shirts and jeans.

Always nice to see that some jackass doesn’t know what we’re talking about. It’s a movie, jackass. Based on an excellent story. The author’s politics don’t enter into it at all- even if you disagree with them. Which, from a brief peek at your profile, you’ve built your life around.

Yep. The last time I saw her in the Denver area was a dark match where she got a huge pop from the crowd.

I went to camp about forty years ago and had a beautiful counselor with a shock of white hair like this (she said she’d had a scar or something.) I had such a crush on her. And no, she didn’t look old, she looked gorgeous.

I’m sitting here saying “John Woo, Ringo Lam, classic Hong Kong directors…” This is why I don’t do crossword puzzles.
comment in response to post
Cool cool. I’ve been following Abadon since they were a local Denver wrestler, and I hope they can get some more matches elsewhere. I’d love to see them develop and come back as a main eventer.
comment in response to post
I’m pretty negative on her, but I agree, she wasn’t that bad. I think the larger problem was that she saw herself as a star while she came off as a self-centered hanger-on. Which would’ve been fine as a character, not as much as a company higher-up. And Cody pretty much nailed his problem.

Dude, you’re the the only one here talking about McMahon. I haven’t watched WWE for at least a decade. We’re talking about professional wrestling, of which WWE is one part. McMahon sold the company years ago. No one is defending him, he’s a horrible human being who alienated many fans & wrestlers.

I saw ABC and Howard Jones earlier this year and blade was an opening act/presenter- I know he does so for a lot of 80s shows, and he actually added a lot to the night!

Jealous, jealous jealous. Will Richard Blade be there?

Trump just wants to drive up the deportation numbers with anyone he can remotely justify kicking out of the country. It really is a shame, and I’m glad to see so many people standing up against it.
comment in response to post
No. When you got it perfect the first time, there’s no reason for a remake.

Hey! I took my son to see Sneakers at Alamo Drafthouse a few years ago and there were at least ten people there! But that cast… Redford, Poitier, Akyroyd, Phoenix, so many great people doing what they do best.

I’ll be happier when he’s off the mountain. Getting there is only half the fun.
comment in response to post
C’mon Henry, you’ve gotta know that WWE, while the biggest single pro wrestling company, is still not the only one out there and more people watch other organizations than WWE? AEW, AAA, Impact, NJPW, there’s a helluva lot more wrestlers employed elsewhere than by McMahon or WWE.
