I use Merlin almost every day when I hear a bird I don’t recognize during my regular daily walk on my rural road here in Northern CA. Interesting to see the birds that overlap both your location and mine — song sparrow, robin, pine siskin — and which are different.

I’ve long thought the same thing! Neighborhoods called “Oak Grove”, “Brush Creek”, etc.
Also, in California, the forthcoming regulations meant to harden communities from wildfires will mean the removal of thousands of urban trees across the state.
