Executive dysfunction is my nemesis, but now I run the show (mostly). Learning to rewire my ADHD brain with books and taking action even when it's scary.

That’s the «whisper» feature, yes? You buy the audiobook and the ebook?

6. My overall experience: These can be hit or miss. For me, they're now a must-have that I take everywhere. For others, they might be uncomfortable or hard to get used to. In conclusion, Loop earplugs can either normalise your sensory experience or make you feel a bit... loopy.

5. That's the good; now for the bad and the ugly: People sensitive to sounds might find earplugs uncomfortable. You can hear everything happening "within" you—chewing food while wearing them was unbearable. I got used to them, but when I'm already overstimulated, I can't wear them.

4. The 'Quiet' setting does reduce noise. I've tried this when I need a break, but it's not as effective as noise-canceling headphones. I never go anywhere without my Sony headphones in case I need to block out everything, so Loop's 'Quiet' is what I need the least.

3. 'Experience' is designed for concerts and events. Unlike regular earplugs, it doesn't block sound but dampens it enough to keep you comfortable. I haven't tested it at events yet, but I really liked it when I went to the mall.

2. 'Switch 2' has three settings: Engage, Experience, and Quiet. Engage is the magic sauce. While talking with a friend, I could hear her perfectly without the background noise. What used to drain me was now manageable. I could even handle a crying toddler.

1. Why I bought the Loops: I'm sensitive to sounds and struggle to filter out background noise. What seems normal to others can be loud or painful for me, stealing my focus and energy. I've tried headphones to mute or block sounds, but this is my first time filtering them.

When I get overwhelmed with how I feel, I write it down. After that, I write down "what I know". And so often facts don't match with how I feel, meaning that it isn't true. That feeling is only temporary. It helps sometimes, at least, makes it easier to create a plan rather than an escape route.

I’m also up at 2 am thinking about this 🫡

It's insane that I only pay a small fee for every doctor visit. If I spend more than $300 within the year, it's free. Whether that's brain surgery or fixing a pinky toe, I'm covered. We have health insurance to cover loss of income, not for the treatments. So unfair it's not like this for everyone.

I love Airtable, too! And also Stackby, which is very similar. Now I want to start using it properly again.

Have you read his book? He’s got the sense of humour for it too 😅

I heard someone call their couch the «sit pit», and it’s the most accurate thing ever 😂 More than just being bad for your body, it’s also bad for mental health.

Right on. What got you here won’t get you there!

My fiancé passed some years ago. More than anything I want his forgotten half-full coffee mugs strewn all around our house again because they don’t matter. Those mugs were just part of our love, adventures and best years of my life ❤️ Don’t sweat the small stuff, indeed.

I’ll dance out this week’s frustrations first, but then I’ll definitely take your advice. Let’s make next week awesome 🙌

Unfortunately, the dopamine hits hardest in the dreaming, not the doing 😆 Good luck with your book (and the next one)! 🤗

Glad I could be of service 😅 John Grisham actually wrote the book with Julia Roberts in mind as the main character Darby Shaw. And then it just came to fruition 🥰

Some books are worth having different versions of. I love physical copies for rereading - a tangible version of something I cherish just adds to the experience. But if the pages don’t feel smooth to touch, there’s no way I can read it 😅 I had to give away my copy of ‘Thinking, Fast and Slow’.

Now I can never unread that 😂

I’m in my 30s, but all I want to do now is watch cartoons on YouTube. This is my childhood. Beep-beep!

Wow, that’s quite a transformation! I was also heavier at 20, but I don’t have any of your inspiring accomplishments that shed the pounds.

Honest spoiler: you’ll fall on your ass many times down that hill, but it gets easier: the trick is to keep rolling no matter what - don’t go back to the top looking for motivation.

I saw the movie The Pelican Brief (before I read the book years later) at 14 maybe, and I didn’t then quite grasp Callahan’s poignant and subtle lines about his drinking. Now I recognise how severe a problem it was, yet only a small part of his complex character. Sam Shephard nailed it beautifully.

I was about to joke «But what about the butler?», but then I realised this is real life with real crazy people. The spouse it is 😬
