Serious bird folklore. Up until the 1950s, destroying the nests of swallows & house martins was considered a grave error that led to very bad luck. I have numerous accounts. Encouraging their nesting would bring good luck to household. Let's bring this idea back.

Today I was late for work, not because of traffic jams, or school runs, but because of a wee fledgling who was hanging around a dangerous location with little shelter. After contacting our local go-to-rescue lady, it was monitored and eventually moved to a safer location, away from dogs and gulls. 🕊️
