In The Grifters, Angelica Houston gets an unexpected knock. She slips a hand gun into a handy spot before answering. John Cusack enters, sees gun. JC: Expecting someone? AH: No, that's the point. *paraphrasing, because it's been awhile

Do you have any data on response rates for Twitter vs Blue Sky?

There's also the classics bias--today we only watch the best movies from 1942, 1969, and even 1998. The bad movies from that era are lost to time.

My least favorite TV genre: They're a _________ that solves crimes.

It made a great punchline for late night talk shows and SNL.

I believe they introduced "anal leakage" into the American vernacular.

And the big central government is so nebulous and mostly absent, it feels too much like J6 rhetoric too me. The show just doesn't feel good to me in today's present climate. 2/2

They weren't directly Confederates, but Wedon has often said the Browncoats were modeled on the the Confederacy. The Lost Cause is right there, not even subtext. And the anti-big government sentiment, just sounds too much like what I hear from backwoods militias. 1/

This one is tough for me. I was a huge fan when it showed, watched every episode on TV, bought the DVDs the day they dropped. But I tried a rewatch a in 2020 and the Lost Cause/Confederate iconography was too much for me. It hits different when the Confederates are a viable political party.

I think many people hate beaches, because they don't live close, so when they go they feel like it has to be a full day event. That's a bunch of work to haul, set-up, and tear-down. When you live near the beach, it's more enjoyable. Casual walks, quick dips, and sunsets are easy and awesome.

I'm a massive Disney fan, but I've never gotten into the live action remakes. But the Stitch trailer hooked me. He's always been a favorite. But also, I'm in mid-50's, so I'm waiting until at least Tuesday, maybe even week 2. I know there will still be kids, but it won't be insane levels of chaos.

Check out Ghosted on Apple. Ana kicks ass and Chris Evens plays against type. It's not groundbreaking, but it is fun.

Saw it in the theaters opening weekend. It was mesmerizing. I've seen it in theaters at least half a dozen times and around 100 on video. It's not only the best of the series, it's one of the best films ever made. I know the kids love Fury Road, it is amazing, but it's not even in the same class.

Small intimate drama/comedies. Movies like Sideways, In Good Company, The Ballad of Wallis Island, or Paddelton.

I get that, but people worked just as hard on the series you aren't watching, but would enjoy much more.😄 Also, I'd be surprised if anyone wanted you to keep watching if you weren't enjoying it. It's not like you didn't give it a chance.

I've gotten much better about just dropping things. There's way too much good, great, and mediocre stuff out there to waste time on something I'm over.

Niche one here. It was about 2005 when I realized Steely Dan was saying "Peg", and not "Hey." In my defense, I wasn't a big fan--I am now--and I'd only heard it on the radio.

I met Owen Wilson on Are You Here. They were using a soundstage at the film school where I worked. I told him we'd watched Wedding Crashers about 100 times while I was deployed in Iraq and really helped everyone get through. He said, "Cool, man. That's really cool," in his perfect Owen Wilson twang.

I've only tried it a few times, mostly unsuccessfully, but I talked to some great ones. They all say the same thing.

A wildlife photographer needs courage in some situations, but the most important skills are patience and focus. In most cases, it requires waiting, incredibly still, for hours while the animals get used to your presence, but also staying ready to frame, focus, and shoot at any moment.

Do they have apple fritters? If so I'm going fritter all day. If not, glazed and vanilla frosted long john.

Google "how do I connect a 'game system' to a modern TV" and multiple YouTube videos, blogs, and threads should pop up. I've never done it, but I looked it up a few years ago.
