Good work on contributing to this appalling decision, @nytimes.com

Here we go down the rabbit hole. We will see if anyone in the chain has morals if asked to violate the posse comitatus act.

Haven’t heard about despite being asked about it multiple times. Thought this “Christian” wouldn’t tell lies?? 🧐🧐

Oh look. A letter. That'll do something. We are all so screwed.

We disagree on this and that’s ok, but that doesn’t give you the right to insult my intelligence or what I’ve learned. Thanks.

I get where you’re coming from and agree for contributing employees. Looking at this from an educational perspective, I wasn’t paid to attend school and I don’t view my unpaid internship as any different than school.
comment in response to post
Eh. I did an unpaid internship while in high school for several months. Got the experience I needed in a highly competitive tech industry. It’s a stretch to believe every position should be paid when the employer is making significant investments in a person with zero skills.

There is no invasion. There is no war declared with congressional approval. There is no cause for the suspension of our rights. But this is the end of our freedom and democracy if we don’t keep fighting.

What’s with all this “thank you for your attention to this matter” crap. Reeks of Trump.

Fuck Josh Hawley.

A short but insightful read is Michael Lewis’ The Fifth Risk. They tried a lot of this, but now they’re successfully doing it where they failed before

Can’t wait to see how Accuweather takes over and destroys public access to weather so they can financially benefit.

Is that Cruella de Vil?
comment in response to post
Just read The Fifth Risk, they went down this road in Trump1. Accuweather is again trying to privatize NOAA for its greedy owners.

Also didn’t single issue pass? So why is the proposed language inclusive of multiple stanzas and a transgender reference?
comment in response to post
This is what Missourians voted for. Education is in the dumps, poverty is 20~25% in some counties, but don’t worry, MO GOP is laser-sharp focused on taking away abortion and transgender rights. Because God and ‘merica, damnit!

CCW passed in 2004. OC in 2012.

Hmm I recall the convention in St. Louis did not allow weapons. And that was ages before Trump hit the scene.

Cool
?

Isn’t it funny how one can’t open carry at an NRA convention? It’s like they’re worried about something

224 pounds. Sorry Captain, I think you’re lying.

Oh, how I miss Steve. Please ask him to join Bluesky.

Oh there’s a reason. Privatization primarily. Also climate change isn’t real to them and NOAA is a threat to that storyline. But it’s mostly about the money. They’ll blame the agency when it can’t do its job even though they took its resources, then they’ll claim it must be privatized.

It wasn’t that long ago we were defending China against Japan, even before officially entering WW2. Or did we suddenly forget WW2 and the Flying Tigers? Let’s not forget Japan’s atrocities against China and the US, for which Japan goes to great lengths to avoid being remembered.
