100 times as many people attended No Kings rallies as went to the Narcissist in Chief’s fascist parade. That’s the story.

That’s what we used to call a “church yawn.”

And yet there is something profoundly sad about these images. The armored vehicles moving slowly and without purpose down the street. The meager crowd barely paying attention — more focused on their phones. The event weighed down by the unspoken truth that no one wants to be here.

The 250th anniversary of the Army is marked by it turning on its own people. America has a long, long way to come back from all this. Authoritarian dictatorship & fascism. Unfolding right in front of our eyes.

Exactly. This is all horse shit. Sen. Padilla was in the building to receive a briefing from Homeland Security and said he was going to the press conference. They knew who he was when he entered the room. And he identified himself multiple times. This was an intentional assault.

Here's another angle from Fox News reporter Bill Melugin of Sen. Alex Padilla getting roughed up by law enforcement after he tries to question Kristi Noem at her presser: “I’m Senator Alex Padilla. I have questions for the secretary. Because the fact of the matter is, a half dozen... Hands off!”

Oh lord. Now do I have to shop at WalMart? It is definitely not my favorite store. Please someone get to Target and fix their pathetic response to all of this.

Given the use of the military to detain people in LA is unlawful but done “under color of law,” isn’t this activity also a violation of 18 USC 241 and 242? Section 241 criminalizes a conspiracy to deprive persons of their federal rights. Wouldn’t that reach Hegseth, Bondi, Noem, Miller and others?

Amen. What’s particularly galling is that she never apologizes for the harm she has done to trans kids and other people. It’s all just “who’s going to protect MY RIGHTS?” She can go eat a bag of dicks.

Yeah. I knew the Chinese Exclusion Acts existed, but didn’t really learn about them until law school. Challenges to the Exclusion Acts created important Supreme Court decisions like Wong Kim Ark which holds individuals born in the US, regardless of their parents' nationality, are U.S. citizens.
