Whatever other cheese you're using in mac'n'cheese, a slice of American cheese helps it emulsify perfectly.

Yeah, for the record, it's the ICE wannabes who are the dork-ass losers. Teachers and NGOs who actually need this stuff and actively hope they never have to use it are fine.

As someone who has ran around public campgrounds with foam swords and fake leather armor *and* played rock-paper-scissors in Dennys at 2 am while wearing heavy eye makeup... these guys aren't LARPers. We don't claim them and we don't want them. They're just dork-ass losers.

Well, this is an origin story.

A Resist Durge and an Astarion romance really clicks, if you aim for Redeem Astarion. You're two people with a dark side and support each other in rising above what other people want you to be. If you really don't want Durge, the Paladin/Gale is also pretty awesome.

Don't forget the third bathroom where you just need to splash some water on your face and psych yourself up for the job interview waiting at the high table.

Anyway, there's only so much I can include in a Bsky thread. I'd have been out there myself if I weren't recovering from dental surgery. So I am educating as I am able.
Flying the Mexican flag, in Los Angeles, as part of an anti-ICE protest, is 100% fine and appropriate.

It's not 'divisive'. It's not 'bad optics'. It's a sign of friendship, support, and belonging. The people targeted by ICE helped build this city. They belong here, just as much as any other Angeleno.

So the Mexican flag flying at anti-ICE protests, in Los Angeles, is not a repudiation of American values. It's the city showing support for a group of people targeted by ICE, a group who's always contributed to our city's culture, history, and economy. It's a celebration of what we share.

Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta, two incredible labor activists, both claimed Mexican-American/Chicano/a heritage and spent a significant portion of their life and career in Los Angeles. Plenty of landmarks in the city are named in their honor.

When Los Angeles was founded, it was by a group of mostly mixed Mexican, indigenous, and Black people.
Mexican people have always been a part of Los Angeles' history, culture, and economy. The Chicano movement, demanding greater recognition and respect from the wider culture, started here.

There's also Cinco de Mayo. It's not a Mexican holiday, it's a *Mexican-American* holiday, first celebrated in 1862 in California. It celebrated the victory at Puebla, but was much larger than that - the defeat the pro-imperialist French seen as similar to the pro-slavery Confederacy.

For instance, when the state constitution of California was drafted, it was ratified in both English and Spanish.
This was when the Californio was also a recognized demographic - rancheros of mixed European, Mexican, and indigenous heritage. Zorro is the best popular example of this culture.

Everyone knows that California was colonized by Spanish and later became part of Mexico before being forcibly annexed by the US.
But there's a lot more to it.

If cat pics help, here's Lucipurr Meowningstar (aka Gremlin or No Biting That). His new cat tree arrives tomorrow.

I fucking loved it.
My random moment of love was when the vampire did an Irish jig. I studied Irish dance in high school, that was authentic soft-shoe dancing. It was how an Irish peasant would have learned to dance, not flashy Riverdance.

Yep, that's how Mad Men does it. The Kennedy assassination wasn't told thru the actual event; it was told thru the story of the promising exec getting his foot sliced off by a lawnmower (that scene is shot very much like the Zapruder film).

It's told *extremely* subtly through the story of Bob Benson. Pay attention to his suit when he has a very emotionally charged scene with Joanie, it's got rainbow thread in the weave.

Other than food, Bourdain's greatest contribution to culture was writing Henry Kissinger's epitaph.

I don't think she did, her next baby came in February 1898. Then another one two years later.
I feel so bad for her - so much stress on her body to birth so many babies who died. I hope she got to see at least one or two to adulthood.

This is apropos of exactly nothing but I went to Cardinal Parolin's wiki page and saw his name cited as 'Pietro Parolin OMRI.' And my gardener brain went, "Oh, good, that means he's certified organic!"
