Just seen (on wikipedia no less) that 'mcboatface' is now a verb. It means 'to allow a decision to be made by those not qualified to make it'. An example would be: 'The prime minister didn't realise he was mcboatfacing when he agreed to hold the referendum'.

Under the British electoral system success isn't achieved by a strong track record or an attractive manifesto, it's by minimising splits. That's how Reform put Labour into power at the last GE. The obvious risk next time is that the Tories ally with Reform while the Labour vote splits Green & LD.

Haven't seen this pointed out but when Trump said children might have to make do with fewer toys, his eyes glazed over as he said 'beautiful eleven year old girl'. Was that his mask-slip Jimmy Savile/Louis Theroux moment? On a separate subject.. what could be the compromat that Putin holds on him?
