UK emigrant with made-up name. Finally binned British passport to avoid saying: 'No todos somos racistas en reino unido' - we're not all racists but 52% of voters in 2016 were. UK's most important challenge? Stop fascism/Reform. Would be vegan.. but cheese

MERZ: Tomorrow is the D Day anniversary, when the Americans ended a war in Europe TRUMP: That was not a pleasant day for you? This is not a great day MERZ: This was the liberation of my country from Nazi dictatorship

People this morning saying water privatisation in England and Wales was a failure. Not at all. In 1989 it raised billions for the Treasury, kept down tax and provided windfalls for many. The Conservatives won the next election and 2025 was far in the future. The Right always think short-term.

Maybe we shouldn't waste our time peering at murky facebook groups but sometimes... 🤯

Balance as always from the BBC. On the one hand, four people who think it's OK to suggest humans be burned to death; on the other, one or two who aren't so sure. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Just seen (on wikipedia no less) that 'mcboatface' is now a verb. It means 'to allow a decision to be made by those not qualified to make it'. An example would be: 'The prime minister didn't realise he was mcboatfacing when he agreed to hold the referendum'.

Under the British electoral system success isn't achieved by a strong track record or an attractive manifesto, it's by minimising splits. That's how Reform put Labour into power at the last GE. The obvious risk next time is that the Tories ally with Reform while the Labour vote splits Green & LD.

Starmer certainly seems to have secured the Reform vote with his pivot to the far right 🙄
