Meritocracy is a fundamental principle of sport and even if it is one person perceived to gain an advantage we need to be clear on how that manifests itself in people’s thoughts on the essence of fairness in competition.

Sorry but I think this particular argument is far more nuanced than that and we need to find a way to get a more positive message across to people who have concerns rather than simple poke fun at them. Too many battles have been lost already by trying to take some sort of intellectual high ground.
