Huge job here for someone - Anthropic is hiring an econ-focused writer to work on @stuartjritchie.bsky.social's team boards.greenhouse.io/anthropic/jo...

Writers and researchers working on economics, science and AI - Anthropic are advertising for a writer! And you get to work with @stuartjritchie.bsky.social boards.greenhouse.io/anthropic/jo...

Posting this here because it seems like a great job people should see, working for @stuartjritchie.bsky.social at Anthropic. If you’re a brilliant writer on economics and society and want to help the world understand AI better, consider applying. boards.greenhouse.io/anthropic/jo...

How the excellent The Studies Show podcast ( @tomchivers.bsky.social and @stuartjritchie.bsky.social ) surprised me by introducing me to the fiendish collider bias: brianclegg.blogspot.com/2024/12/the-... #Statistics #badcorrelations

An ENTIRE podcast on collider bias 🤓🎉 - love it! Here is our take for gene x evironment studies! Can’t wait to listen! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

In response to the final few seconds in this podcast, that CB is something to be aware of but really hard to actually DO anything about. Here’s our suggestions in the genetic epidemiology context: journals.plos.org/plosgenetics...

Indeed, great episode by @tomchivers.bsky.social & @stuartjritchie.bsky.social on collider bias & for criminologists worth checking this research note pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

Some said it couldn’t be done. That it was impossible; ridiculous; absurd. But @tomchivers.bsky.social and I have done it: recorded a whole podcast episode about collider bias. www.thestudiesshowpod.com/p/episode-57...

The latest The Studies Show is in your inboxes! On a strange statistical anomaly that can make it seem like smoking protects you from COVID and obesity is good for your heart www.thestudiesshowpod.com/p/episode-57...

When John Kingman - who has done more to drive good policy on UK economic growth than anyone - gives advice, I really hope people listen. open.substack.com/pub/samf/p/w...

The Economist claims many UK and US (not shown) masters degrees have negative financial returns (especially for men) by the age of 35 www.economist.com/leaders/2024...

Depressed, but not actually surprised, to see that Morrissey is now singing in front of slide shows of “Puppetmaster” Bill Gates and Anthony Fauci 😖😩

Love this podcast! Good banter, mediocre science.

This is the kind of echo-chamber slop I was hoping NOT to see on this platform!

This is such a silly straw man, and Carl (and everyone reposting this) should know better. The argument is that *to the greatest extent possible, science should not be political*. Everyone agrees that it IS political, but that’s bad! We should make it less so.

For those who don't know: @stuartjritchie.bsky.social and I run a science-based podcast called The Studies Show! Our latest episode is on RFK Jr and water fluoridation www.thestudiesshowpod.com/p/episode-56... but we've got about 70 episodes now: check them out here www.thestudiesshowpod.com/archive
