Love the outdoors and, when the mood takes me, love getting out into my local Sussex countryside with my camera.

Smashing! So glad they were open to your persuasion! Looks like a wonderful display.

It’s gone! I was watching from a distance, saw another damselfly go up from somewhere and then this one also took flight. That maiden flight always looks so weak and fluttery but they both made it safely into nearby shrubbery. Fingers crossed for what’s left of their too-brief, above-water lives.

No, I’ve no idea why the volume was so loud at the beginning. 🤫

So much sky, so much sand. It looks exhilarating. Kudos to your mum for capturing you in your element. 😊

Oh, I love this. I love the benevolent, relaxed pose of your tentacled being and the many brushes with characters in the building. The butterflies are lovely. The giraffe surprised me but then, why not? ☺️

I never get tired of seeing your waves. Right now I’m wishing I was at Newhaven for high tide just before 11am. With this WSW/SW wind, and gusts over 30mph, it could be spectacular, especially as there’s sunshine. Hope you’re out somewhere with your cameras ☺️.

Ah, I didn’t know. It’s a while since I’ve walked down from South Hill Barn. Fingers crossed I’ll get my knee sorted out and will get down there again soon.

Ah, beautiful and calm. I remember crossing the Cuckmere at its mouth by foot a few years ago, before it was opened up. Thank you for jogging my memory. I love it down there.

Wow. Kudos to your friend. But does she like cricket?

Chicks are still being fed. Adults chittering at me as I walked on the path nearest the box (had put mealworms out). I moved along the path and they dived in, one after the other. Can’t be much room in there now!

I’m only on 16 days so waaaay behind you. It looks beautiful there.

I’ve recently been on some meds that had the unfortunate side effect of causing me to naturally replicate the volatile emissions shown in the video. Never experienced anything like it - almost up there with the likes of Le Pétomane - and I am so glad to be able to resume normal social interaction!💨🤣

I’m so, so sad for you. Nothing ever really prepares us for these losses. 😢

Sad, but it happens.

That’s a big chunk of feathers. Lost in a scuffle, or from a dead bird? Either way the beauty remains.

Oh, wonderful images! I can just hear that low, bubbling sound they make. I’ve only seen them in Scotland, and even with a long zoom have never got photos like these. Reckon this was worth the early start!

Happy 60th Birthday! Is it really a year since you were a mere strapling celebrating your 59th? Goodness, that passed swif…oh, never mind.

29th April. That’s soon! 😮

Maybe we can have a belated celebration next time we meet. ☺️😘

If you value our friendship…don’t. Hahaha hahahahaha hahahaha. 🤣🤣🤣

Its not a custom I know. I reckon a lot of it is laziness because people don’t know what to give so they use it as an easy way out that doesn’t involve too much time. If anyone gives me a scented candle or a cushion I will not be happy. 😠. 🤣.
comment in response to post
Ooh, 60 is a big one, too! What date? I think it deserves a scented candle AND cushion with your name and date on it! 🤣🤣🤣 🎂.

We have four frogs (two out of sight). I don’t know who makes these but they appear at certain times during the year.

😮🤣 Well, if you ever went in to Bognor Public Library chances are we came across each other!

Ah, both are familiar, but going back a while. I was in Rose Green from ‘72-‘83. Quite a trip down Memory Lane! ☺️

Small world. I lived in Blondell Drive (police house) and eldest son went to Rose Green School until we were uprooted and moved to East Grinstead. Hated being forced away from the sea!
