It's no longer binary: normal or abnormal. We've known that A.I. can predict future risk of breast cancer from a mammogram jamanetwork.com/journals/jam... Today the FDA approved an A.I. to do this for 5-year risk assessment clairity.com @connielehman.bsky.social

Less qualified lawyers. Just what this country needs.

Yes they really haven’t clearly answered that yet. The answer should be that probable cause is required. Emergency aid, like exigent circumstances, is an exception to the warrant requirement, not the probable cause requirement. (IMO, it’s a type of exigent circumstance.)

He’s trying to make deals before his birthday, but this isn’t how you do it. It normally takes months to negotiate them.

Given the way the admin has interpreted these agreements, I'm not sure how you can say you have no conflict if they are ever adverse to the government If one client says you owe them a $2 trillion in legal work and they get to pick the cases, how can you tell another client there's no conflict?

Trump strikes again.

The world is shit but here is my dog sunbathing.

"...layers of new red tape are plaguing federal staffers throughout the government under the second Trump administration, stymieing work and delaying simple transactions, according to interviews with more than 3 dozen federal workers across 19 agencies and records obtained by The Washington Post."

Day 1194 of my 3 day war. A month ago I turned down a ceasefire that would have stopped the drone attack from happening. I remain a master strategist.

Black mothers are at the mercy of California’s inefficient & negligent jail system, Tanasia Newman writes in an op-ed. It took 96 hours & more than $230,000 for members of @essie4justice.bsky.social to secure the release of four Black mothers from a CA jail—& their experience wasn’t an anomaly.

Big Bear Baby Eagle Flight???!!!!???

Would Trump judicial nominee Josh Divine make Judge Matt Kacsmaryk look like a reasoned judicial officer? Probably not, but the Missouri federal courts nominee could possibly give the N.D. Texas judge a run for his money, as @jaywillis.net's examination of Divine's college newspaper columns shows.

Callous b*stard.

It's one of those good days again where I get to go to my to-be-read piles and choose a book - because I've finished the dazzlingly spectacular celebration of story that is The Porpoise by Mark Haddon.

“I, [name], do solemnly swear that I will never again say that there are no Democrats in Livingston County”. After the pledge of allegiance, the @livingstondems.bsky.social Chair had us repeat after her. And by the size of this sold-out room, she’s right! No place is permanently red. Keep going 💪

The runway wasn’t the issue. It was the ability to communicate with pilots.

Just started skimming through the Trump admin's FY26 budget request, specifically for HHS, and the first thing I see is they didn't even spell this thing right.

my take on this is that it's fine to write about Yarvin because that dipshit has a ton of influence, but it's fucking insane to interview people like him because it gives him a platform and serves to legitimize him as within the boundaries of acceptable society

No surprise here: The Kremlin has constantly intoned the mantra that the "root causes" of the conflict have to be resolved. The "root causes" are Ukraine's existence as a fully sovereign, independent state. Moscow wants to turn democratic Ukraine into a vassal state like Belarus.

$2 trillion boondoggle? U.S. allies are backing away from the F-35 fighter jet program, citing cost overruns and performance concerns. Hard questions ahead about defense spending, accountability, and what “next-gen” really means. 🛩️💸 📰 shorturl.at/Am9T6

Plus those forms are losing big clients who no longer trust them.

Searching for images for an upcoming talk, I happened upon this 🌟 uncredited 1909 photo of a newsstand at Philadelphia's 69th Street terminal — which reminded me of Abbott's 1935 newsstand photo, which I included in my 2017 book :) via Free Library + NYPL; urls below

One of the things I most resent about AI is the way it has inserted itself, unwelcomed, between me and my students, especially the ones I don't know all that well yet. I hate that every time I read a piece of student writing a small piece of me is thinking "is this a robot or a person?"

The fact that so many people seem to be struggling with the idea that low-info voters don't vote for policy or pols-as-they-are but an imagined perfect pol that does what that voter specifically wants regardless of what they actually say makes me wonder if people actually talk to low-info voters

BREAKING: A federal judge DENIES the government's motion to avert a trial in a case seeking to block the Trump administration from targeting pro-Palestinian students based on speech. It's on course for July 7, 2025 at 9 a.m. ET. Story soon @AllRiseNews.com www.allrisenews.com/p/d-day-prot...
