I've published the first part of my guide on how to play the best 3D beat 'em up of all time: SpikeOut! This part covers the basics, more advanced topics will be covered in a future part. (Replies to this skeet will appear as comments under the webpage) testamentenjoyment.net/spikeout/gui...

Since a lot of people were asking me for more detailed thoughts on Dark Ages, I decided to write a full review. I find that the game's issues go beyond just gameplay, but a lack of vision that encompasses the entire experience. I hope Id learns from this. rexzakel.wordpress.com/2025/05/18/d...

the people's hearts cry out for quake 3 longest yard 24/7 servers but they dont even know it. they dont have the language to know what was taken from them

This is so funny

it wasn't a bit, the treasure tiny toons game is actually a really rich experience. really disrupted my first impressions and kept giving up until the very end of the game. would definitely like to go back and finish off the second loop soon

Replaying Arx Fatalis with EAX on and I think we need to go back to having distinct, loud and chunky footstep sounds that are based on which tile you are stepping on.

danboland.net/2017/10/03/n... i think boss fights / seemingly annoying gameplay sections are often very useful teaching tools and that far outstrips some weird insistence on "eating around the rotten parts"

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan that these types of requests come about due to finding the concept "annoying/disruptive/etc" and that solution is a fence-sitting menu option. Most interesting question would be wonder why certain types of games follow design tropes that don't benefit their experience.

One consequence of everyone on YT feeling like they need to appeal to the unknowable needs of an algorithm is that my feed might look like a gossip magazine cover with the worst title/thumbnail combo I ever seen but I can't tell which has value (informative or entertainment wise) and which doesn't.

yes chores are a pain, but really my troubles began in 1534 with the birth of nobunaga oda

Been playing City Of The Wolves and I have pretty mixed feelings on its system mechanic. It feels no less volatile than a lot of the modern fighters and the REV system is mainly to blame for that. Cranked out a post trying to put my issues into words. rexzakel.wordpress.com/2025/05/08/f...

Hearing all four back-to-back is a moment everyone must experience.

Skin Deep is out!!!!!! This was an incredible game to work on and I'm super proud of what we created. Please play it and leave a review and all that jazz!! store.steampowered.com/app/301280/S...

youtu.be/UI_EPWkA_y8 It's been a year since I posted this design process video of Magenta Horizon. Still proud of how it turned out, and happy that the game is fully released in the end, but I'm too tired to make another lengthy video essay continuing from this.

People buying a graphical overhaul of a game whose OG has a lot of mods like that is already weird but I think this is underselling just how funny Oblivion is and how it achieves that through systemic interactions and how animations, physics, dialogue, etc reacts to it in hilarious ways.

Pocky & Rocky & NINJA Pack is $25.63 on Steam buff.ly/RUNIqj6 The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors $11.99 Pocky & Rocky Reshrined $16.49

Here are 4 extremely cool indie first-person RPGs you can play right now that don’t fund a genocide. Fly Knight Lunacid Dread Delusion Dungeons of Blood and Dream

Finally finished Selaco (admiral difficulty and hardcore mode enabled) and what a game. Crazy that it only has chapter 1 currently and is already one of the best if not the best shooter.

Seeing Nostalgia Merchants already baiting their audience mere hours after the Oblivion remaster came out is both funny and annoying.
