It's all about the context. There is always context.

The neighbors hear because of proximity, not because I share it specifically with them.

Playing piano. There was so much pressure as a child to play for others, do recitals, and such that I didn't play at all for over 30 years. At the age of 50, I started again (lessons again, too). Now (at 57), I practice and play every day. My only audience, my dog and the immediate neighbors.

They also sometimes nest in palm trees. We have a pair here (I am in Tucson) at the neighborhood park that has nested in the same palm for several years. I've been lucky enough to see several little owls fledged over the years.

Sadly - clearly AI generated, clearly not physically possible for a few reasons, clearly in a pictured space where there is space to spare, and finally clearly not intended for short people as I see no ladder. It isn't even a case of AI providing a good, workable idea.

@febrifuge.bsky.social I am nearly done with it. It is brilliant and devastating, and I think it will be on the list of books that changed the way I think about storytelling. You are welcome to borrow my copy, but I will want it back. ❤️

I am weary from being persistently wary.

I am completely entranced... only 25 pages in (it is only ~160 pages total). The writing style is beguiling. It unfolds in a delicious way.
