In case you forgot what Matt Shea's deal is www.spokesman.com/stories/2018...

Presige tv is like a long distance relationship—long periods without hanging and sex, but too good to quit.

1/ The day after the Antioch High shooting, Nashville police arrested a 12-year-old for posting a concerning screenshot on Instagram. His school was supposed to figure out if it was a valid threat. Instead, the school expelled him with no further investigation.

This *probably* should have been a "fifth and final season" renewal, rather than just "fifth." I love "Hacks" and it should end on its own terms, whatever those are, but it also shouldn't go on so long that I resent it. And Hannah Einbinder is a LEAD actress and should be award-recognized as such.

Interestingly, this detail is replicated from the game. Anyway, lots to think about in Alan’s review IMO, a good critical perspective from someone who hasn’t played the game and is treating the show as its own work (which it is).

I like BlueSky but yeah, I wish there were more well-rounded content here that I like on IG (so I can fully break from Meta). Things I’d love to see more of here: *Hygge homes & moments *Crafters: especially pottery and leather crafting *Witchy content *Horoscopes *Art (not AI)

Holiday weekend shenanigans at Taco Night at Trails End Lake! 🌞 🌮 🎉

BREAKING: An Israeli airstrike on a school-turned-shelter has killed at least 25 Palestinians, mostly women and children, Gaza's Health Ministry said. The school was hit three times while people slept, setting their belongings ablaze, they added.

We live in a beautiful place. Don’t let the bastards get you down

Had a blast at the Rilo Kiley concert at the winery last night! 💜 @rilokileyofficial.bsky.social

Preparing for witch summer by placing holds on all the witch novels I want to read. I envision biking around Seattle in the sun and listening to witchy audiobooks. Perfection. 🌞 🔮

I love that my IG feed is full of friends’ pics at the Storm or Reign games last night! I definitely have awesome friends! I went to the Reign game and had a blast.

The most realistic horror movie? Why that would be the landing page of any news outlet in the US right now.

Man what a fucking headline

When a friend tells me they are leaving an event for some reason like to go home for something and then they’ll come back, I don’t believe them. Because I wouldn’t come back.

Years ago I reviewed the Midea U-Shaped air conditioner for Gizmodo. This week, the universally beloved pick for best window air conditioner suddenly got pulled from stores everywhere, right before the summer months. I may have figured out why for @aftermath.site aftermath.site/midea-u-shap...

A story about why Democrats are losers, in four parts.

Today is the 45th anniversary of my favorite movie, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. For its 30th anniversary I got to interview its director, Irvin Kershner, which wound up being his last www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/20...

Had a blast at the @43rddemocrats.org Ballots and Bubbly! Great to see @joemiz.bsky.social @blacksandpaper.bsky.social @alexis4seattle.bsky.social @organizewithshaun.bsky.social @viviansong.bsky.social @hunterkbrown.bsky.social and so many more!

Some political parties are just way more fun! @lisalsong.bsky.social @hannahkrieg.bsky.social @ryontheryse.bsky.social

Striking workers now have access to unemployment insurance in WA! Signed into law yesterday after passing the #WALeg this year, the bill ensures working people don't go hungry when fighting for fair wages and contracts. washingtonstatestandard.com/2025/05/19/w...

I see my hot take is polarizing! I love when friends drop by, even if I’m wearing pjs/sweatshirt. I honor my friends’ preferences so I text first or just don’t do it. One of my friends sent around an open invite for Tuesday drop ins every week; that’s both so organized and on point for this friend!

Americans favor labor unions over big business now more than ever, analysis of new data @epi.org from me & Adam Reich of Columbia Labor Lab. In data back 60 years, Americans' sentiments are both warmer toward unions & cooler towards big business than ever before. www.epi.org/blog/america...

Question: how many people remember making ash trays for parents in elementary art class? How times change. Many kids don’t get Art classes anymore. And if they do, they certainly aren’t making ash trays.

Hot take: bring back the days of dropping by to visit people and welcoming them stopping by to say hello to you. It’s not just a Jane Austen thing! Think of Three’s Company, Golden Girls, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, and Seinfeld where everyone’s coming by all the time.

If you describe how class action waivers and arbitration agreements work to the average person, they do not believe you

Also there's two actions: 1. Tuesday 2pm WSB will be at full council to disrupt (no vote or discussion on ethics change) 2. Thursday 2pm, renters groups will be at the committee meeting (where the ethics law is on the agenda)

Let me get this straight: Trump and his administration are demanding a return to the office AND withholding the Covid vaccine? Yeah, I foresee major health problems headed our way.

Out and about on a sunny Seattle Sunday.

Two truly wonderful attorneys put in their notices at SSA this week. I worked with each of them for over a decade. They will join the City of Seattle. Boon for the City but I’m shaken by how many caring and experienced people are leaving SSA and federal employment.

Wasn’t there a discussion of semicolons in John Irving’s The World According to Garp? A woman he liked commented on semicolons? It made an impression on me because that’s some sexy talk right there.

Did not have my ex applying for the LAPD on my 2025 bingo card.

The Democratic Party should not be pay to play. Not at the national level. Not at the state level. Not at the local level. And not on school boards. Now, people who raise $$$ get ambassador & other appointments. Let’s stop appointing or endorsing wealthy people because they raise lots of money.

Love the conversations people have & can overhear on public transit. On a SF bus, I met twins and the nanny shared that the twins were from the same egg donor and each had the sperm of one of the dads. Another time, a high school couple broke up while riding the J Line to Mission HS 😢

Fabulous that @kcdems.bsky.social endorsed @sarahforschools.bsky.social for Seattle School Board Director! She’s been slaying it in this role and standing up for families, students, and teachers. She’s fought to keep schools open!
