You remind me of something posted by a BLM protester in Portland. The cops escalated in response to every step protesters took to keep themselves safe, yet the cops kept accusing the protesters of escalating things.

Very convenient how this basilisk seems to want things that also justify giving techbros a lot of money π€

Like, this guy isn't normal, and we do have to talk about the fact that a certain group of uber-wealthy people have invented a fictional promised land and they're using all their money and power to drag us there, kicking and screaming.

The short version: We need to raise money so we can move to this new sustainable space. Anything you are able to donate is appreciated, & even if that's not in the cards, sharing this post to your networks is super appreciated as well! Thanks!" #LGBTQ #Toronto #queer #ally #books #bookstore #booksky

Well we could have a whole conversation with all that's wrong with current HR/hiring practices and recruitment agencies that try to use software to sort resumes π

I mean having a degree is probably better than not having a degree but the idea that it doesn't matter what the degree is in or if you learned anything is bunk! Sad π

genAI promises you the same kind of allure a controlling abuser does to keep you dependent and isolated, every promise of 'you don't have to do [x]' is a mentorship in learned helplessness. the indoctrination of abuse is one where you can't do anything in your own power. keep your power.

the bitching about genAI that I do isn't the rantings of an old person behind the times, it's the promise of the inevitable results of logistics. you can only keep a jenga tower up for so long because there's nothing left for it to stand on and for it to topple. make sure you don't topple with it

the AI market right now is not only a bubble but it's a short-lived delusion, it cannot survive a long term reality, and everyone who uses it is literally making themselves more unreliable, more untrustworthy, and more incompetent that the only way forward is with people who can actually do the job

it may seem as though you're being a chump doing things 'the hard way' and not rolling with the times but trust me when I say in a job market of absolutely useless cavemen who can't even form their own sentences you will be so high value and highly sought for, you know, self-dependency
