Two types of videos I immediately skip past. First, anyone talking in the front seat of their vehicle, especially while wearing sunglasses. Exception is videos about the vehicle. Second, any video where they wag their finger to tell you that was the wrong way to do something.

I just saw the new Mission Impossible movie. Some spectacular sequences. My inner physicist had trouble with a couple things but I told it to just roll with it. Where does Tom Cruise go next? What worlds are left to conquer?

Hail falling right now as the storm moves through.

Mia being adorable.

Watched the Formula 1 race this AM. One of the cars had actual flames on the front brakes, both sides, and the driver just kept going.

I just watched the end of Season 4 of House where Wilson has to say goodbye to Amber. It brought back memories of holding my late wife's hand as she died. Still raw after all these years.

The appointment of Pope Leo XIV got Chicago's Malört trending on social media, so I started to think about unique drinks local to the Twin Cities. I thought of Grape Ape, a drink created at the Loon Cafe. Lift Bridge Brewing sells a pre-made Grape Ape in a can. www.thetakeout.com/the-grape-ap...

I re-watched the Swedish version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". While the Swedish movie is much closer to the original novel, I think the US version benefitted from going second and making some changes. For example, they played down Salander's hacking activities.

I watched the 2011 David Fincher version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" last night. I've previously seen the Swedish version w/Noomi Rapace and have read the novel. Gotta say, Rooney Mara really committed for the role.

I watched an episode of "River Monsters" while folding laundry. Jeremy Wade was fishing in the cooling pond at Chernobyl for Wels catfish. The episode was filmed long before the new containment structure was completed.

Heard the thunder from today's AM storm for the first time. It's here!

Latest earworm - "Only I" by Hayla. I'm not usually into EDM. youtu.be/oUs5xXYM-2U

I watched the movie "Babylon" last night and it came to me that Margot Robbie looks a lot like Michelle Pfeiffer around the same age.

Blu is happy and relaxed, fully at peace. He was a timid and scared boy when he entered my life nearly 2 years ago.

Blu is making little kitty snores.

I made Lebanese Mujadara for dinner. It's a simple dish of just lentils, rice, and onions with cumin and salt for spices. I think it needed more onions and they needed to be browner. A little black pepper helped too. Would make again, but probably not as a main dish.

I watched a Formula 1 race for the first time. Very interesting.

I had a very nice Friday in Lent dinner at Our Lady of Guadalupe on Concord in St. Paul. Cheese enchiladas were a nice alternative to a fish fry.

I know I wouldn't mind the ads on YouTube as much if a 30 second ad didn't take 60 seconds just to load. Or if ad loading didn't fail so often, leaving me unable to watch the video.

Mick Jagger was an inspired choice to present Best Original Song.

Mia found a towel with contrasting color. It must have been placed for her.
