I am sorry for your loss. I am going through something very similar. Since I had to put down one of my cats, the other one has suddenly become far more demanding of attention and more vocal. They barely seemed to interact, but it’s definitely affected her.

Dude - I’m here, aren’t I? I’m making an observation, not advocating for this behaviour.

People make ethical compromises. We know there is much suffering behind a lot of the things we consume, but we consume them anyway because they give us pleasure. So we don't think about it. X still has way more people, so the chances of being entertained is higher-and the bad stuff is ignored.

You are definitely *not* the only person to cry during Love, Actually. I've seen it several times, and cry every time. :)

"What trillion-dollar problem is AI trying to solve?" Wages. They're trying to use it to solve having to pay wages.

Carney got the "Canada's not for sale" soundbite. I doubt he expected much more in this session.

Fair for people in the mid and lower ranks of the public service and other institutions. My sympathy diminishes the higher up you go.

The unwillingness of people, including those who have real power, to just say "no" is really shocking.

She literally says she is afraid *but still doing her job*. It's a two-minute clip. It would be great if people piling on her would actually watch it.

I think it is maybe underappreciated outside Canada how much some people in the country hate Trudeau viscerally. Even with the Trump effect, this election would have looked very different if he had stayed.

Harper started flirting with that rhetoric towards the end - the "Barbaric Cultural Practices" snitch line, for example. I think that's part of the reason they lost the 2015 election.

Start with cold water, then get it boiling for 3 minutes, turn the heat off and let it sit for 10 minutes.

Fair point. Perhaps it can be made in a way that does not appear to disparage the pain of parents whose children were slaughtered.

Absolutely. It's also interesting to me that women (usually) don't "claim" the men's bathroom if they know it is empty.
